Where is this team located and what exactly are they able to do for us??

They're going to further sort out this emergency situation.  Don't have specifics for you.  But one more charter flight tonight, and the rest of the 1,800 pax out tomorrow during the day, beginning at 6:00 AM.

We just got off the ship. We were called at 530 to be off by 6 for a 10 pm flight. Puts us into Miami around 12 or 1 am probably. If we even take off on time, because I read about the 4 pm flight that didn't take off until almost 5 I think.

Fingers crossed we can get in fast.

World Atlantic Airlines flight into San Juan lands at 10:20 PM.  No word on turn-around time.

What kind of plane are they using for the charter and about how many passengers does it carry? Any ideas? Just wondering. Can’t imagine how they will be able to get everyone off this ship by tomorrow.

last flight tonight is an MD-83.  Not a big airplane.  First flight today was an airbus.  so it's a mix.  Finding out about tomorrow.

Tomorrow it is a mix of Boeing 737s and 767s.  All charters to Miami.  First flight out of SJU at 9:15 AM AST, give or take.  Last flight at 10:00 PM AST, give or take.  Total of about 10 flights spread out over the entire day/evening.

I must say that this is a monumental effort on the part of NCL and its contractors, both in SJU and MIA, to get everyone home as fast as possible.  Not an easy task.  At all.  Thank you to everyone for being as kind as possible to the crews: ship, shore or air.  They are working very hard to make the best out of a very complicated situation.

DISCLAIMER: NONE OF THIS INFORMATION IS OFFICIAL, FINAL OR SANCTIONED BY NCL.  I am just going out on a limb here to try and ease your minds.  I WILL DENY EVERYTHING UNDER INTERROGATION.

"Update...we are still sitting on plane waiting. People are getting frustrated and irritated as we don’t know what the hold up is about and many have connecting flights in Miami. Be sure to give yourself extra time for those on the second charter flight to make your connection in Miami. Everyone involved is trying to make the best out of a bad situation."

I'm so sorry, and hope you make it home safely soon!  It is really unfortunate this took place over Thanksgiving; otherwise it would have been nice to extend a stay on San Juan (but as noted above its probably really hard to find hotels now).

Quick Question - what airline(s) are being used for the charters ? More in likely American ?

Where are you getting this information??

NCL should know if this is a dry dock or wet dock repair.  If future cruises are impacted, they should be making announcements.

This is if the case is that the ship definitely cannot sail next week or in the near future.

However, I understand the current passengers are their tops concerns now as it should be.

Ours was Eastern airlines. We did have a flight attendant escort us to baggage. It took about 30 minutes for luggage to start arriving. Then, we were on our own to get to our connecting flights. We booked our connecting flight in advance of arriving to Miami. FYI...airport is very, very busy due to holiday, but you can quickly get through security if you have TSA precheck or global entry cards. We had 1 1/2 hours until our connecting flight and made it. Hope all of this is helpful! Safe travels to all of our fellow cruisers on the Jade.

My wife and I were able to get off the ship and onto the airport bound bus at about 8 pm on Monday. I walked up to one of the officers in the reception area and asked him if we could go as per announcement calling for passenegers who are ready to go which was made around 7:30 pm. Now we are waiting to board our flight with World Atlantic at SJU. Hope everyone who is still on the ship gets home safe !

Was there any NCL staff assisting cruisers at the airport with getting their hotel rooms and their connecting flights, like they kept informing us they would do, or did they just leave everyone stranded at the airport and say not our problem anymore, contact the corporate NCL phone number for any further questions and concerns?

There was an NCL rep there, but since we had a connecting flight booked already, she just showed us which direction to go to get to American Airlines ticket counter. She did tell one couple to go upstairs to try and secure a hotel and that hotel shuttles were also upstairs. Hopefully someone else can give you more information that interacted with her.

Awesome, that is good to hear. Thanks so much for all the info you have provided to us today. It was very appreciated and informative! Safe travels back home and Happy Thanksgiving to you!

I was told we would have a 10 pm flight.  Still sitting in this icebox airport at 11 pm, just told that our flight is delayed and we won't leave til midnight.

Flight plan for outbound flight is not updated yet, but the inbound aircraft isn't scheduled to land until 11:43, so you'll definitely be leaving after midnight.

Still haven’t received any notice of what flight we are assigned to. Are they still notifying cruisers of their flights via letters on their stateroom door and over the PA system? You would think we would have been notified by now of when our flight will be today. They had all night to notify everyone. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

I am sure they are doing the very best they can. At this time, just getting all the passenger settled is probably number one on their minds as it should be.

sorry to hear that. I hope by now you are at your final destination safe and sound. Did the airline tell you why the delay? I have complete sympathy for all of you!!!

NCL has contract staff at SJU airport departures meeting the coaches and assisting passengers with their luggage and directing them to the proper check in area.  They're not wearing NCL uniforms.  They're wearing red polo shirts and khaki pants, like the pier dispatch staff.  look for any of them if you need assistance at the airport in San Juan.
