New Amex Offer

I had the $100 off 500 on my platinum card this am...I did use the 150 one that was in September so it’s not a function of whether or not you used it.  I believe however the delta airlines cobranded Amex’s almost never get this particular offer.

A wuestion...does anyone know if I buy obc for my upcoming cruise (which was paid for a while ago since it’s in 3 weeks!), will that trigger the statement credit as a purchase from princess?

That has worked for us in the past and I'm hoping it will work again this time.

So that always sets up an interesting dilemma for some.  For example, if I put my Seabourn booking on the AMEX card I will get a $100 credit.  But if I put it on the Chase Sapphire card I get $10,000 of cancellation/interruption insurance.  What would you choose ?

Hank

We used the Chase Sapphire for that, plus the extra travel points.

Hmmm, read some additional posts and read the offer more carefully. Hopefully it will work for the OBC on my Crown Princess cruise in Feb. I booked it a few months ago and not through princess.com but through Princess Casino Booking. I guess it's worth a try anyway...worst that could happen is that it'll cost me the entire $500. I plan on buying the beverage package once on board so will use the OBC toward that

I do want to say thank you to the OP. We did the internet, coffee cards, and the rest is onboard credit with this offer (which was available in one of our AmEx).

AmEx immediately confirmed we will receive the credit once we sail.

Much appreciated!

I did that for a Holland America cruise last summer, and it worked. There is no reason that it should not work the same with Princess.

I love saving money! Was able to use the $150 off $750 in September and now have attached this to my Amex to save another $100. I have 2 separate AMEX cards and although the offer appeared on both accounts it only allowed me to attach the offer to one. Anybody know if once I use it on one card if it will then allow me to attach the offer to the other card?

Also for anyone that thinks they don't have the offer - try selecting all offers, then the travel category. I did not see it on the long list, but it popped up when I specifically went to travel.

I pulled up my email from yesterday and went down the list and found it.   It says:

Offer valid only for reservations booked between 11/20/2018 and 3/31/2019

I am cruising right now and was going to go down and add $500 to my account but if I read this correctly, that will not work.   Has anyone received the offer when they paid while on the ship?  thanks

Last spring, it worked when I purchased six future cruise deposits. I just added this offer to my card. We don't have a cruise planned, but I'd like to go on one in the spring before DH goes back to work.

….so this in the offer....."valid only for reservations booked from 11/20/18-3/31/19" doesn't mean you need to make a new booking?

Terms of the offer:

Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels.

I tried to add it to a second card and it told me that I could not.

However, if you have a second person on an AMEX account that has the offer, the 2nd person can also attach the offer to his/her card.

It has not been a real requirement in the past even though it always said that.
