Beaches in San Juan.

We will be arriving by cruise ship in San Juan for the day. We’re looking for a nice beach for a few hours, hopefully with food.  Does anyone have any suggestions or perhaps a tour that includes beach time?

Unfortunately, San Juan is not the best of places to find a convenient beach for a couple of hours when having a port stop there.

If you read the board you'll see this discussed numerous times. Most recently there's a thread from a couple of days ago titled "Day Passes?" where a recommendation is made.  If you don't want a day pass, contrary to what the previous poster said there's a very nice beach, Isla Verde, that's just a short, inexpensive taxi ride from the Old San Juan cruise piers. Have the taxi driver take you to Tartak St. in Isla Verde for beach access.
