There is no reason for them to advertise that on Royals page since they wouldn’t be the booking engine/agent. That is the other agencies job.

What I was referring to is that Royal should state that some agencies opt out of RoyalUp.  Clearly, Royal should not mention specific travel agencies.  Also, Costco (and likely other agencies) should identify that they do not participate in Royal's RoyalUp program.  David

Costco lost this customer.

I am currently sitting here at my laptop booking a cruise for next summer.  I was seriously contemplating booking through Costco until I read they don't participate in RoyalUp. After having success last month with our Royal Up bid, I would prefer to have the option of bidding again.  The $925 gift card is not worth losing that kind of control over my booking.

No way I would give up a $925 gift card for the SLIM chance of winning a RoyalUp bid

We were assigned our GTY Suite 14 days before sailing, which turned out to be a JS, which we are 100% happy with, but when I looked to see what was still available, there were 13 GS suite available for booking, so I thought we may be able to do a RoyalUP bid to sneak into a GS.

Whenever I enter our last name and booking number, I receive an error saying, "Please ensure your sailing is within the next 30 days - Please ensure there are no errors in the information you entered" - Our sailing is 9 days out...so we are good there and I also spelled our last name correctly.

Thanks

When I query RoyalUP for bookings through Costco (they opt out of RoyalUp) I get the same message when I am within 30 days of a cruise.  I suspect that in your case that your agency also has opted out.  It appears that for agencies that "opt out" will not have bookings forwarded to the contractor for the RoyalUp program.  Hence, the message.

They do identify that they don't participate, however it is well hidden.  If you go to their Online Help section and click on Cruises, you'll find the answer midway down page 3 that they do not participate in bid to upgrade programs, and they specifically identify Royal Caribbean and Celebrity (although I know they also do not participate with NCL).

Just got our upgrade email for our October 5th Anthem sailing to Bermuda. We were in an obstructed balcony and were given the option to bid on a regular balcony, spacious ocean view balcony, junior suite, and grand suite. I debated on bidding on the regular balcony because the minimum was only $30 but decided that if I’m risking being put in a location I don’t like it should at least be for a different room. I ended up just bidding on the spacious ocean view since it’s just the 2 of us and I’d rather save the money to use for a larger suite when we’re sailing with our kids. Got the congratulations email today after bidding $160 each with a $130 minimum.

We have received an email for to bid for an upgrade on our next cruise. Can anyone let me know if we bid for a junior suite or above does this give us double points?

Thanks in advance

You would only get the extra points if your original stateroom category was entitled to extra points.

Just curious how many are in your travel party?  We are a group of 2 being given the same options (Villa or Royal suite).  I'm not sure what we would do with the Villa which has 4 bedrooms and 4 baths!

Challenge yourself to 'Christen' all 4 rooms. 😁

And dont forget the hot tub and dining room table. 😉

You have a week. 😉

Well now I know who to send my husband to when I need help convincing him to book a large suite. 😂

Laura and I have a 2 bedroom Aqua Suite on Allure next year. I have 12 days. 🤣

I'll be lucky with just two rooms.😉

I have received that same message and I can guarantee you that my TA did not opt out of the program.

I have instant alerts on my AMEX card if the card is used without being present. I think I would be notified by them quicker than RCI.
