For the people that have been upgraded, did you find out before the 24 hr mark?  Or did they notify you at the 24 hr mark?

March 3rd Anthem. Sailing listed as sold out except for inside and top suite. Received upgrade email 2/1, upgrade acceptance email received 2/5. Bid slightly over minimum. At the time of booking cabin was $900 more than mine. Over time , price went up to more then $1200 more then my cabin. Saved several hundred dollars over original booking amount.

We are on the April 23 sailing of Anthem of the Sea.  We originally booked our Jr Suite on the ship and then transferred to a TA.  I received a Royal Up email today and put an offer in on a grand suite, owners suite and a sky loft suite.

How can you check the status of your bid?

I don't think you can check the status of bids. What were your upgrade prices/bids?

You can’t check the status.

Well this is interesting.  We're sailing on Serenade of the Seas and originally put bids on the Owners Suite, Junior Suite, Grand Suite and Ocean View (no balcony).

When I check the status of my Royal Up bids, I get the following error when I click on Owner's Suite "No eligible cruise found."

Also, when I click on the original Royal Up email, the Royal Suite and Owner's suite are no longer listed to bid on.

It leads me to believe that the system then only offers rooms that have not received full payment rather than cancellations.  Otherwise, how would the system account for a cancellation unless a new Royal Up email is sent out?

This is one example of a few that said they checked the status. What are they referring to?

You click on the offer e-mail and get to the bid page again. The existing bid category should show as such (which you can adjust) and the others should be biddable, but you won't get any other info or any status update.

Thanks. Does that allow for more than one bud per person?

Can anyone provide feedback on the rooms they have won?  Were any of the upgraded rooms adjoining?

We were upgraded from deck 3 oceanview to dect 10 balcony. It is an adjoining room. Should I be concerned?

We've gotten an adjoining room several times, due to upgrades or guarantee cabins.  Only our last one had a noisy neighbor, but only on the first day.  We got to listen to him ranting at the top of his lungs over not having gifts waiting in his free cabin, since he was a big spender in the casino.  :classic_rolleyes:

After the first day, they either got an upgrade from the Jr Ste and the cabin sailed empty, or he really was a big spender and was in the casino all the time.  Never heard him again.

The rest of the cruises, we heard nothing more than you normally hear in the next cabin without an adjoining door.

Good for you on the upgrade!

A couple of questions...

We are booked in a JS on Enchantment.  Got the RoyalUp bid "offer" and I can bid on a GS upgrade for $150pp (or other suites for more).  A few of questions...

1. With the JS, we should be getting double points, right?  If we bid and get an upgrade, do we still get the double points?  I have seen where the upgrades do not include that benefit, but I thought that maybe since we are already in a JS booked, that the double points would still apply.

2.  Would you do it at that price ($300 for the two of us)?

3.  Would we get access to the concierge lounge if the upgrade were to go through?

Thanks.

Well, it seems as if the RoyalUp program is working pretty much the way many expected it would.  On my 15 Feb Anthem cruise (which has been showing sold out for some time), suddenly they are showing interior rooms available for booking with everything else sold out.  I imagine that the RoyalUp cascade upgraded all of the willing bidders, leaving the interior category available.  I guess they won't lose too much sleep if a couple of inside rooms sail empty if they have gotten all of the upgrade money from the RoyalUp bidders.  I hope some people got some upgrades that they are thrilled with !!

I was wondering this for Australia as well but I just got an email from Royal yesterday saying the Royal UP program is launching here today (Feb 12), so it appears they are rolling it out. I got the email notice as a Crown & Anvhor member - if you aren’t already, worth it to sign up and get notice when it’s starting in the UK?

I just got an email today asking me to bid for an upgrade on a cruise leaving Sydney on Ovation of the Seas in March 2019. Very very tempting....

I would love to get the chance to bid. Have been checking and re-checking my inbox! Good luck if you do decide to bid, hope you get a lovely upgrade.

Interesting to read the trickle down effect.  Anyone who books last minute will just be happy to be onboard.

We are sailing tomorrow and never got an official response on our bids.  What we received this morning was an updated invoice, but same cabin and price.  Guess that is Royal's way of telling me my bids were not successful.  We have a great cabin in a great location so I am perfectly happy to have saved some cash.

Thank you so much for the link, I'll get to reading that....! The poll was great too, would be interesting to see how many people actually use the system, what their offer was and if their offer was accepted. I love data and assume there's some sort of algorithm. I am a little bummed though, seems like this is a way to weed out those "lucky upgrades" as I would assume they'll reward any upgrade offer v. none at all.

I'd also guess that getting a better than booked category on a GTY booking is just about dead.  Why give it to you for free when they can have someone in an existing JS pay for an upgrade, and then put you in their JS?  All upgrades in the future will likely cost money.
