Lost photos on web check in, rubbish reply

I was having an issue with the web check in, I filled in all the information and downloaded the security photos. Each time I checked the photos had been wiped off, having tried 5 times I asked customer service what the problem was; this was the reply

 

"Whatever important information we need is already in the booking, Photo option you can skip it on the website you can carry your photo and provide them at the time of embarkation" 

 

Why do I need to carry a photo when there is a perfectly good likeness sticking out of the top of my coat.

I should imagine they mean your photo ID, which everyone needs. They just take your photo at the port.

I've had the check-in add photo function work on one out of six cruises.  The one time it did work check-in didn't care and took a photo anyway.  I don't think a Med cruise would be any different than US based.  MSC needs to get rid of that function as it only causes customer concern.

No need to give them a photo online.  We didn't bother and are on our 2nd week of B2B now on Seaside.

We provided our photos online. They still took our photos again when we boarded the ship in Civitavecchia last week.
