Fred's Dock in Leixoes and Portimao

Can anyone tell me where Fred docks in Leixoes and Portimao and if a shuttle bus is required?  It looks like there are two docks in Lexioes and I have seen a review when someone was able to take a tram to Oporto from outside the port gate. but I do not know which dock that was from.

 

Also, is there anything near the port in Leixoes if we do not go to Oporto?

We were in Leixoes in September at the new cruise terminal and there was a shuttle bus that took us from the ship to the port gates. There was a hop on hop off service from there in to Oporto but I am not sure about the public bus service. I didn’t  see any trams in Leixoes.

It's a 5-10 minutes walk from the port gate to the tram stop (they call it metro). There is a ticket machine at the stop.
