westcoastcruiser Posted December 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2018 We are scheduled to tender in Flam arriving at 8 a.m. We have tickets for the rail at 9:45 a.m. I am not sure how long the tender ride is. Can anyone tell me what their past experience was at this port? How far is it to the train from where the tenders dock? Thank you.
Ine Posted December 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2018 The tenderdock is very close to the trainstation. Tenderride itself might be just about 10 minutes. It wil depend how much time you have to wait to board a tender.
Capt_BJ Posted December 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2018 (edited) Flam today via https://aurlandhavn.no/maps-cam/webcam-flam/ in the center you see a ferry at the dock. IME cruise ship's tenders used the small piers to the right, behind the red tour train. The train is clearly seen. Another angle, there is only 1 ship berth, other ships will anchor out ahead of the one shown here. The blue and white ferry is in the same place as the one seen in first picture. Walk to the train is minimal ... if you look carefully in the lower left you can see folks queued up for the next train (it can be a wee bit busy on cruise ship days!!!)
