late return flight las palmas can we tour city 1st

Hi looking to book a last min cruise but would like to get to see las palmas in Gran Canaria.  How flight back is at after 7.30 pm can we get off the ship early and return to get the bus back later to the airport or if we leave would we have to take our luggage with us for the day.

You put your luggage out the night before and only have hand luggage with you. This can be stored while you leave the ship so you don't  have to carry it around with you.  A couple of days before departure you will be notified of your pick up time, for 7.30 flight I would guess you will leave the ship around 4pm.  You can use all the facilities until your transfer and you can also arrange to keep a cabin for around £35, otherwise a shared cabin is often available so you can freshen up.

Recently back from discovery 2 which stopped at Las Palmas.  Short walk from pier into Central square called pargue de santa Catalina.  From here you can walk round town and shops, cut through town on to a lovely beach promenade with nice cafes and long golden beach called cantares or catch a local business 1.40 Euro to the old town of Vegueta 15 mins ride.

 

When we left our hand luggage there was a long que for tagging and storage so suggest you get there early.
