Future Cruise Deposit for family members not onboard

Hi fellow CCs!  I just returned from a TranAtlantic cruise and was told that I could not put down FCDs for family members who were not onboard with us.  We have always been able to do this in the past...has something changed?

You are correct, in the past I purchased FCDs for others who were not sailing. This was changed, maybe a year ago or so. Wish I could still do it.

Such a bummer.  We have a group of 10 family members going on a 30-day Asia cruise in January 2020.  I guess they will just have to pay the full deposit😔

As least you won't have to pay the deposit PLUS you have gotten shipboard credit.

 

And remember to tell your TA about the ZPM that you get from the Welcome Home e-mail to get even more shipboard credit.

Bonus for us!  I’m also trying to find out from my TA if I can use the ZPM code since we just came back from our cruise...not sure if it works for Canadians...hehe😊

May 2018, I was able to buy FCDs for my daughters for a cruise I booked for all of us for summer 2019.

 

To be clear, I was booking the 2019 cruise while on-board an Alaska 2018 cruise, booking two cabins--one for daughters (who were not on the Alaska cruise) and one for DH and I (both of us on the Alaska cruise) for a summer 2019 cruise, and was able to purchase and use FCDs for all four of us to use for that 2019 cruise. I did have to sign a form that had words to the effect of purchasing FCDs for family members who were being booked for the same cruise.

Yes, the ZPM code works for us Canadians.
