Ovation, Photocpoies of passport required?

I was reading some reviews for ovation of the seas and many membersbwere very cross they had to supply 2 x A4 passport copies and were  notbadvised to havebthem ready. They would not let anyone check in. So passengers had to go upstairs to use one copier, with another long queue.

Has anyone had to do this in Australia on embarkation day?

Yes, that's required for the Asian destinations due to immigration processing procedures there. That said, RCL do email out those requirements, but some TAs may not be passing the information on where a passenger uses them.

Haven't had to do it here in Australia.

I remember on one Radiance Top End Cruise, everyone had to have their passports photocopied. No previous notice given and we always carry a couple of photocopies of ours but didn’t matter.

The line snaked around the boarding deck in the drizzling rain, waiting over an hour just to get passports photocopied and handed in. Only happened once in our 5 Top End cruises. Probably because of a lot of complaints! Usually it was done at sea before Darwin.
