NCL Bliss Haven Dec 8-15

Recommended Posts

Great review, thanks for sharing. Looking at booking the Bliss Haven next summer maybe.  Must admit the pictures of the guests on the waterfront  with their bare feet on the pillows grossed me out.  Note to self, never use a pillow on a cruise ship couch.  So that lady has her sweaty foot on the pillow, then the next guest could have their young child sleeping on the same pillow, blah.

It’s sad because they have a specify no bare feet on all the paperwork.   Basically you could bring towels with you I suppose. Haven changes the lounge covers when a guest finishes so they are always pretty clean. The observatory is just as susceptible to the foot grime but just less people.   Maybe they will

just start Washy Washy on feet. 🙂

We had a wonderful captain named Jolene and made it enjoyable.  It’s only about 45 minutes snorkel(kind of short) but some people were gassed in 15 min so they have to keep it short for the cruise peeps.  Had 55 people on boat and I was worried about sardine effect but honestly it was not bad.  It’s also right at pier so it’s very convienient.

Thanks for the great review!

one question for you. Is there a bar in the Haven Horizon observation lounge or is there bar servers?  Just got off the Celebrity Edge and their suite lounge just had servers and sometimes getting a drink wasn’t quick.

No bar in the Haven Observation. just coffee and snacks.  Honestly there were servers around all the time.  We tipped as we went so that probably did not hurt..  couple bucks each time and you will have no problem.  The bar staff is not included in gratuities so we just tipped as we used them.  There were never enough people to use up 1/2 the seats so I could have just went to the Haven bar if I wanted.  Hope that helps..

My exact thought.  Looked like they had bare feet on the tables as well.  So gross to think about placing a drink down on top of it.  Ewwwwwwwwwwww.

We did Alaska on the Bliss Haven this past September.  Naveen was outstanding!  LOVED the in-haven bar - stopped for a drink whenever we were on our way out, on our way back, or just because....

Try a smoked Old Fashioned, if nothing else, ,just for the show making it.

would you mind explaining the boarding process in Seattle for a haven passenger on the Bliss. If there are long lines and a big  wait to board my DH will not agree to sail on such a big ship. I am hoping there is an expedited process for Haven passengers. thanks so very much!

Puli, depends on what time you get there!  With Haven you get through FAST, and then you get escorted to a special lounge for Haven pax only with lots of nice snackies.  If you show up at 8 am YES, you will have to wait!  I think we got there about 10:30 and were on the Bliss, in the Haven lounge by 11.

My hubby is impossible and even he had no complaints!

Thanks erdoran,   seems like   the   process for suite passengers on NCL's Jewel & Dawn class ships....however  the security process must be horrid with 4000 passengers...after that it sounds like smooth  sailing...I guess there is no way to circumvent the first part but at least there is expedited check in and direct boarding.Hopefully passengers are given time lines to be at the pier so all 4000 do not show  up at once.

Does bliss or Joy have to share the pier with any other ships?  that would be a game changer for us !

There is not a bar in the Haven Observation lounge, but there is one in the public lounge.   It’s about 47 paces for Haven guests to the bar( only an estimate, I did not count) but the staff will just bring you what you want so really the bar follows you in The Haven.  I reposted a photo of the non Haven Observation area.  Bar is just to the right.

Security wasn’t much of a wait.  As far as pier sharing no idea.  Bliss was bell st pier. Check joy’s itinerary to see if they both dock same time.

Joy's Haven prices for the same-old-same- old ports ( with the minor exception of Icy Straight ) is outrageous! I am off to the Jewel!

We are traveling on the Bliss in February in the Caribbean.  Is it hard to get a lounge chair on sea days on the Haven Sundeck?

Thanks for help!

Actually no, we were fully booked Haven and never had an issue period.  Way more chairs than people using them.  The cabanas were full one day but if you really want one go early or have your butler put an out of order sign on it for you.  🙂.  There is one smoking area of the sun deck that was full.  I hate smoke so I just stayed away from there.  Other than that it is pretty sparse.  Enjoy!

Thanks for reply.  NCL advertises that Haven services include priority when reserving restaurants and entertainment.  Is service provided as advertised?  If we decide to go to a specialty restaurant in the afternoon, can they

provide a reservation for that evening at desired time?  Thanks again!

Quite simply nothing is booked for Haven guests.  We changed our minds many times and they just seem to find a spot.  Same day, same night no problem.  The coincerge makes it all happen.  They are not included in normal tips so we take care of him separate.  They literally spoil you.  Also note you can order anything and the butler will bring it to your room or balcony from the specialty restaraunts .  Finally each night the Haven restaraunt has a special from a various restaraunt on its menu.  Check with them each night to find out but might also be an option.
