Diamond Plus to try Celebrity

We just made Diamond Plus on RCI, and were thinking of trying Celebrity.  From what I can find,  D+ converts to Elite on Celebrity?     Does anyone know if any casino benefits cross over to Celebrity?  I am Prime on RCI, and was curious if any benefits from Casino Royale transfer?

Also are you eligible for their discounts at your current RCI level?

Thanks for any info.

Whether you decide to cruise with Celebrity or not for a future cruise call the Captains Club and provide them with your C&A numbers.  That why you for sure are in their system. On Celebrity the entry level for the Casino level is Pearl. Since we don't gamble we are considered to be a grain of sand.

I recently found that you can log on to the Celebrity site with the same logon as your RCI info. Then you can go to your profile and get a Captain Club #.

Like RCs website I don't trust Celebritys website. Oh wait, same IT dept.  But to each their own.

With captains Club you do get a 1 category upgrade within a meta-category.  For example I just moved my cabin from a 2c (obstructed balcony) to a Concierge cabin cat 3 for $30 per person and then was upgraded to a Concierge cat 2 (from capt club) which was  $150pp difference ($1049 vs $1199) and we got an angled hump cabin (3x balcony) and 1 perk which is the drink package.  So for $1049pp we got an extra large balcony in a Concierge Cabin and a drink package.  Pretty good deal for a 7 night cruise

Not all 1 category upgrades are that much of a price difference but sometimes you can find them.  The best upgrades are 1b to 1a (angled balconies) or the C3 to C2

We also like the one free bag of wash and fold laundry each. We feel both RC and Celebrity upper tier level perks are good.

Thanks for that info !  I have been eyeing a cruise on the Edge, but I don't know a thing about their categories/classes of cabins.  I am going to wait for my last cruise on RCI to post, then I am going to give Celebrity a call and check it out.

Ya I hear ya, I know the "S" class ships pretty well but really nothing about the Edge.  Looks like a fantastic ship but getting some mixed reviews on those Infinite Verandas,

Not sure if you know that sailing with X will not add to your C&A points total in any way.

And vice versa.

Bear in mind the 'free drinks' each evening, in the Elite lounge, are limited on your card to only 3 in the 2 hours allocated....not 'unlimited'! ☹️

So if you are diamond plus with RCI, and sail 7 nights with Celebrity, do your points start at zero with Celebrity?  (even though you get elite benefits? )

We just made D+, I don't think I will live long enough to see Pinnacle.

Yes, you will be Elite with zero points.  The reverse is also true. If you are Elite on Celebrity and cross over to your first RCI cruise then you will be Diamond with zero points.

Yes correct- you have zero X points but will receive the benefits of the Elite tier.  Elite is the highest level where they offer reciprocity. Even PC are Elite on X!

A lot of people categorize it as a "free bag" of laundry.  Actually, it's 30 items, whether it fits into 1 bag or 3 bags.  On shorter cruises, it's 20 items (pair of socks = 1 item).  That's per person, so if you have 2 Elites in one stateroom, it doubles.

Almost correct. Yes the three CC HH drinks can be used in the lounge and/or as well at all the other bars from 5 to 7 PM. Just can't go over the three drink allowed. The CC HH drinks loaded on the Seapass card can not be used from room service, stateroom minibar, World Class Bar and Cellar Masters. Like RC some Celebrity ships are allowing the Seapass drinks in the dining rooms.

Yep, that's what I said, free and each.

No, you didn't say what I said.  I just clarified for those who sail Royal Caribbean because on Royal it's whatever you can fit into one bag, and those are very skimpy bags, so if you have things like sweats or jeans, you can't get much into them.
