ATMs in Australia

We live in the USA and will be visiting Australia in February. I am told it is better to get local currency from a bank ATM than a currency exchange. Can you advise if any of the Australia bank ATMs are on the "Star system" or "Plus Symbol". Those are the two systems my bank ATM card can use worldwide.

Plus should be the choice.

 

i think Star in Australia went out of business.

Just had a look at a couple of major bank branches down the shops.

 

Both had Plus symbols.

Should be all major Australian bank ATMs.

 

Plus is the ATM network affiliated with Visa, which all the major banks are.

 

If there was any specific location you were concerned about you can use this tool to check.

Thanks for posting this info.  We ill need to find an ATM in January and we do have a PLUS card.

you should also check to see if your bank has any Australian partners.   Ours partners with Westpac and their ATMs were everywhere so no fees

Debit card connected to a Credit Union. They have no reciprocal CU in AU
