dst Posted December 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2018 We will be in St Maarten in a few weeks. Last time we were there we did a tour with Bernards, so we are thinking of something different. Has anyone used the water taxi, can you give any advice. How was the beach on that side, how are the restaurants/bars? We are hoping for an easy beach day with some lunch and a few beverages...... Can anyone offer any advice - thanks
Ashland Posted December 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2018 Don't stand in the long line for the water taxi tickets (on the main walkway) you can just go down to where they board and buy them there. I would get off at the main pier drop off and go to the beach there, then at least you'll be in (near) the middle of town. We were just there this past September. shipgeeks Posted December 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2018 You can also walk to that beach in about 20 minutes. We think it's a nice beach, and going and returning on our own schedule suits us. Some of the bars and restaurants have people who will offer their menus, and loungers, while you are on the beach; you can take them up on it or not. Do you remember the cost for the water taxi The water taxi is $7.00 pp round trip. All the beaches along the port at Philipsburg are just fine...take your pick and enjoy !
