Probably very rare and the bartenders are probably extra cautious to match the person to the card during the first few hours on embarkation day. Just playing devil's advocate here. 😉 I put little fish magnets out on our cabin door. You would not believe how many have been re-arranged, and some have totally swam away. Would not be surprised if some "not so adult" types play with the obviously exposed sea pass cards. I think you are really over worrying about something that has not been an issue over the life of the program. Sea pass cards have been handled this way for years on some Royal ships and on other lines. There have been ZERO reports (to the best of my recollection) of the issues you are concerned about. This is the logical next step in the evolving process of streamlining boarding.

I am sure that if you get to your room and the passes are not there those cards would be instantly shut down and the person who attempts to use one may wind up off the ship or worse. The process will be new to us also for our March Freedom cruises. Like you not worried just some concerns. I noticed under our names on our Setsail passes it has our tier level and next to that it says "CHOICE". Any idea what that means?

You will get a plastic (*credit card sized) Seapass card for getting on and off the ship, getting into your room and making purchases while on board. This is not the latest set Sail Pass. Until that happens, and I am able to quote from experience...I won't know for sure, but I am not feeling good about that change. Your cabin door is open to all until you get there. 😮 Really...not sure why it is so hard to give out the sea pass cards at check in? They are already printed up and sitting in a box behind check in counter. Now with this change...they have to go cabin to cabin to put those cards out. And what if some think it is funny to grab your card before you get to your cabin? Pat, we did EN last week B2B over Christmas. This new system was in place then. The cards were in sealed cardboard envelopes on the room number sign where they place notices and super bills. The cabin was secured until we unsealed the envelope and got our cards. As far as I know the cards have always been printed ahead of time by Guest Services so they probably place them on the cabin doors during turn around time. This reduces costs at the port where the contractor would be handing out the cards. Checkin time is reduced but not by much. cocoabeana Posted December 31, 2018 #42 Share Posted December 31, 2018 I did my online check in and my sea pass is ready to print. I did not take a picture for it though, when will they take my picture? Does that hold up the check in process? I went back to put a picture in and it won’t let me. Any suggestions? Your seapass will be on your cabin door and you will get it at 1:00 when the rooms are ready. Between the time you board and the time you get your seapass you can use your set sail pass for on board purchases. That's incorrect. I went on Navigator last month and my seapass was handed at checkin despite the muster station being shown on the set sail pass.

When the new set sail passes started appearing they were for ships that had the seapass outside the cabin door. Royal has obviously expanded that to include more ships probably in anticipation of all ships going to the seapass outside the door in the future

Prior to our departure on Enchantment a week ago Friday I had to make a change to my online booking. After I completed it the new SetSail Pass showed up and I needed to print one for me and one for DW. Both were required to enter the Terminal at Port Canaveral.
