rharvey999 Posted January 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2019 You would think after all these years I would know the answer to this but....if we are offering our cabin for viewing on a cabin crawl is there anything we should do other then making sure the cabin is clean? Treats?
clean1owner Posted January 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2019 Some do treats, some do decorations. Our last cabin crawl we did a poker run too, so all the Hosts had cards to pass out.
Rare DandDM Posted January 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2019 Let your cabin steward know the night before so they can make sure to clean up in time and do a thorough job. Would also recommend clearing small items off counter tops and surfaces as well as possible. Not too worried about folks having ‘sticky fingers’, but it looks a lot better. Also, since multiple people will be in there at the same time, like to move chairs and other furniture (balcony included) out of the way for more standing room. Finally, as a past organizer of these events, keep in touch with your organizer to let them know everything is a go! as far as treats, was on a crawl once where an outgoing, fun couple from Hawaii managed to serve rum punch to everyone....they won the cabin crawl IMO. Most importantly, have fun with your fellow cruisers!
neverbeenhere Posted January 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2019 Yes keep in touch. We have organized and participated in crawls that had locked staterooms when the group showed up. Don’t bring trinkets to give away as they will end up in the garbage. Treats and liquor are great Especially in staterooms with room. If someone is on the previous cruise, they might be able to obtain alcohol in quantity at good price. If everyone chips in a little cash to defray the cost, it sure helps. (Announce in the planning stage to carry a dollar or two on the crawl)
Loonbeam Posted January 8, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2019 If there are two of you in the cabin, when yours is up next, have someone run ahead and open the door, turn the lights on etc, even stand out in the hallway and wave people in. Cabin crawls often spread out a bit and this can help reduce logjams.
Mr. Bungle Posted January 8, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2019 Get a list of cabin locations and plan a route. Don't try and go lowest cabin category to top tier. You may wind up walking all over the ship. We did one on Oasis and started from the lowest deck and worked our way to the top.

I actually do top down as much as possible, which means its easier to move via stairs downwards, especially for large groups, then we might take an elevator back up for a grand finale suite... That's a good plan to have... Didn't think of it that way. Ours was more of a, let's go to the closest one first and move from there.

Ours was more of a, let's go to the closest one first and move from there. The last one I ran was on NCL's Escape - 16 decks, 40+ people, 12 cabins. Lots of walking and 40 was too many to move via elevators. Then we elevatored up to our haven suite (long story, got it as part of a pricing error) where the butler(!) actually waited to let everyone in and served snacks (we're never gonna top that one)
