hotels around Santa Monica

We are flying into LAX on a Friday and cruising out on Sunday from the cruise port (San Pedro) and looking for a nice area hotel in Santa Monica. We would like to be close to everything around the pier area and maybe some tours from that area also. Any recommends on hotels in that area would be appreciated.....

What is your budget per night for hotels?

 

There is pretty much nothing around the cruise port in San Pedro so nothing to be close to. No tours I am aware of either. What are you looking to see on a tour?

In Santa Monica its hard to beat Shutters on the Beach. The Fairmont is also quite nice but a little more geared towards business travelers.
