Yes, this is the one I was.  I could not figure out how to repost it.

Thanks Chez Marylou. I saw it. I was going to bring a collapsible rod also.

I'm aiming to post the pre-cruise part of my live blog from the Millennium when we leave on Wednesday (boarding Friday) this week, and I'm going to make a point of checking every nook and cranny of our Aqua Class stateroom to provide my perceptions of the new decor and furniture - as I open the door for the first time, I will trust my first reactions and report that. I have to say I don't think I will care very much about the colour scheme of the cabin because I'm actually on a cruise (finally!), but I would never not accept someone else's view because it's a valid as what mine might be on Friday. So I'm prepared to not like it, but I will see what my gut tells me when I open the door! Stay tuned for the first post of the 'not yet quite live' blog on Wednesday.🙂

Well folks… for some you here, you may not be the targeted demographics Celebrity is marketing to.

Loyalist who don't buy upgrades simply help fill the unsold rooms.  The younger folks with rising income and wiliness to splurge on vacations are really more important than they have been in the past.

Those 4 people are who celebrity is ditching their loyal guests in favour of?  Though I may be guessing at what is meant by "young".

Wanted to respectfully correct some of your post.

The crew member is incorrect,  they only added 30 cabins (please see fleet guide published earlier - tried to upload again but cc not allowing it today).   They did reclassify some cabins from 3/4 to 2 person cabins as they had to keep the passenger load the same.   Also Michael's Club is not gone just renamed and they added a new Retreat Lounge and Retread Sun Deck for Suite Guests.

Thanks for the correction.  I was told 55 new cabins but guess that was an exaggeration.  I will say that we never found Blu crowded despite the increase in aqua cabins----although we do dine early.  I did not mean to imply that Michael's Club space is "gone", just replaced by the Retreat Lounge.

True for some perhaps,,. but many non suite Loyalists enjoy AQ and Concierge  Class;   and spend money at the Spa, casino, excursions, florist,  specialty dining and Jewelry stores in addition to the  cruise fare.  We do not consider ourselves dead weight! If they make our experience "no frills" we may not stick around to fill those rooms.

Imho, this article and subsequent discussion there of, is a bit off topic and perhaps should be moved to a new thread.

Yes I agree.  But after reading this blog I did not learn anything new.  We have discussed this quite a bit in various posts on the Celebrity board.  This blog is just a rehash.

I can’t speak for any baby bommers, but I’m a boomer who likes the new color palette.

I really like the colors - as someone mentioned, it’s the functionality, or lack there of, that’s driving me crazy.

Why put all the blame on Kelly Hopper? Somebody at X had to approve this ridiculous nonsense!

Weather you like the design changes or colors is very subjective. The real issue is will the grey/light colors hold up under wear and tear. I can see issues in a very short period of time with coffee/food stains on the carpet and furniture.  That may be the real issue here.  I will be in a CS on the April 27 transpacific crossing so will have the chance to see for myself if there are any signs of wear and tear after two months of being in service after the drydock. Will report on this thread about it.

The pictures are horrifying.  A sky suite with a bedside lamp you can't read by.  A desk chair that doesn't allow you to get your legs under the desk.  Even the chair won't fit under the desk.  Really?  A kindergartener could have done better.  I can't believe she got paid to do this.

We're sailing in a SS soon and can't believe the chair doesn't slide under the desk due to the arms so it will be in the way all of the time. After viewing the videos of a PH, RS, CS, SS and Veranda, the SS is the only category with an armed chair at the desk/vanity. All of the others have nice armless chairs.

How are the mattresses. We are sailing in an inside this summer. Reading reviews from pre-revolution that they were horrible. My parents take an egg crate in a space bag when cruising Royal. Never had an issue with the celebrity mattress before but wondering. Any input?

Not even a rehash:  it's from 2011, so it was pretty cutting edge at the time.

I didn't mind the colors on Edge.  The problem was that everything in our Sky Suite (bed, couch and balcony chairs) was too hard for comfort.  When I was involved in building projects, I put together a Tush Force of variously-bodied folks to test out every proposed chair.  If it didn't fit, we wouldn't commit...

We were on the Edge January 6th - brand new ship - our sofa was stained - our friends sofa was stained - major fail in both tone of fabric and cleanable aspects. Overall as a designer I liked the look but the function is horribly laking.

We were on the Edge for 10 days, experiencing the new "very firm" Cashmere mattress that they are putting on all ships.  After a couple of days we asked for a mattress topper, but they didn't have any, but they could put a "quilt" cover on top of the mattress.  It helped a bit, but still extra tough on my wife who is all of 120 lbs.  For heavier people, they may be more comfortable on these firm mattresses.  Personally, I am looking for an egg crate to take along as we'll be on board for 14 days - but I can do it easily because I live in Vancouver.

Celebrity made a lot of changes that we didn't like on the Edge.  :classic_sad:   However we have our fingers crossed that we will still like and enjoy the Millennium. :classic_unsure:

Interesting, since I think those who don't appreciate the updates should take their thoughts to a new thread.

The focused passengers (as mentioned in the article) and those who really love the updates can continue with this thread.

I'm not sure who you think on this thread is not really interested in the updates.

I and others either have upcoming reservations on an M class ship, or are thinking of booking on one. There are those of us who have previously sailed on an M class ship and are very much interested in changes that X has made. To dilute the conversation with discussion of a different topic only makes it more difficult for those of us trying to get relevant information.

Getting an opinion on mattresses is as much a subjective thought as getting an opinion on food or on colors.  Everybody is different.  For me the mattress in our Edge CS was the most comfortable thing in the suite.  Others will surely disagree.

Yes I noticed April 2011.  Why bring up something from 8 years ago on this thread?  Was it referring to S-Class?

I really don't give a rip about the color scheme (or the lack thereof).  I'm not buying the place, just renting it for a bit.  It's the nonfunctional, uncomfortable looking furniture I object to.  Imagine paying the price to stay in the PH and being told you have to sit on a milk crate.  Or your guests do.  Imagine booking a sky suite which you have occupied previously and finding out that they've removed the walk-in closet and substituted something much smaller.  I think the insides, OVs, and balconies look fine, and about what I'd expect to find in those cabins.  And, yes, I've sailed in all those classes.  And all of Celebrity's ships except for the Edge.

I get that I'm not their target demographic, but I'll bet I've spent more time in the PH than their target demographic has.  And I have 28 days booked in there on the Summit next August, so I think I have a right to an opinion about it.  Somehow I don't see Millennials who are buried under education debt and can't get a mortgage to buy a house spending the kind of money it takes to book the PH.

You won’t be happy on the Edge all the same issues.  Beautiful, impractical non functional.

Assuming it will be the same as ones on EDGE..we had one in January

Very large for the cabin space...firm and comfy...no allergy issues with the cashmere
