It's not all that hard to understand. I agree; in a perfect world, the barista would know every minute detail about Princess' policies related to his/her position and be able to answer instantly and correctly. However, not everyone is perfect and occasionally a barista (or other crew member) will not understand all the details of a particular policy. Would you prefer that he/she (1) tells the guest what he/she thinks the guest wants to hear (i.e., lies), (2) makes an honest attempt to guess the answer based on imperfect knowledge, or (3) admits that he/she does not know the answer and offer to ask a superior (who may or may not know either). I simply stated that I would prefer that the barista choose option (3). I was not commenting on the adequacy of the barista's training in company policy; that is another matter altogether. 4everOrcruiser Posted January 17, 2019 #27 Share Posted January 17, 2019 On previous cruises, we were able to use our coffee cards to purchase gelato on ships selling gelato. Does anyone know if this will still be the case? It's not referred to in the T$C's.
Rare gottagocit Posted January 17, 2019 #28 Share Posted January 17, 2019 We discovered on the Royal no longer allowed us to use our coffee card to purchase gelato on our voyage in December.
4everOrcruiser Posted January 17, 2019 #29 Share Posted January 17, 2019 That's unfortunate! I may have to reconsider the value to me if I can't use it towards gelato.
Rare Pirateskigirl Posted January 17, 2019 #30 Share Posted January 17, 2019 This new policy stinks. Plus, you can't get a straight answer on what coffees are considered "speciality" coffees/drinks. My friend had a heck of time trying to use her 15 speciality coffees on a 10 day cruise. I know of 3 people in our group who won't buy the coffee package again.
