Beaches within walking distance to pier

We are going to be cruising with our 2 year old grandson, and am only now coming to the realization that transporting a little one around safely is an issue.

We can bring a car seat, but I am not sure that I can assume that taxis on the islands will necessarily have seat belts to attach them to.  So I am looking into walkable beach options.

Are there any beaches that one can walk to from the pier?

What about water taxi?

Yes, taxis have seat let's. That's normal in cars and vans.

 

Vigie Beach is the closest to the port. 20-30 minute walk to the Boardwalk or $10usd one way quick cab ride.

Lovely natural beach with pretty calm water, tons of natural shade, small boardwalk with several local eateries/bars, clean bathrooms, seating. There's chairs for rent and usually masseuse doing massages also...
