feejul Posted January 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2019 Hi Does anyone know how long it takes for Princess to refund unused on board credit after the end of a cruise? It will be 2 weeks tomorrow since the end of my cruise and I feel that it should be through by now....
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted January 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2019 It can take up to six weeks, although it was only 2-3 weeks when we got a refund.

sama10 Posted January 17, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2019 We received our refund from Princess two days ago. Our cruise finished on 27 December so just under 3 weeks. Anne
feejul Posted January 17, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted January 17, 2019 Thanks Anne, nice knowing I don't have to worry and be chasing them up. Hope you had a good cruise.
Aus Traveller Posted January 17, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2019 I might follow up on our refund. Our cruise was in late November but we haven't heard anything yet.
possum52 Posted January 17, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2019 Our refund from our November cruise took 3 weeks to arrive, it came in a window envelope. Hopefully it will turn up soon. Leigh
Belmont Babe Posted January 17, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 17, 2019 Refund of our OBC from a cruise ending in mid October, arrived beginning of December, so that was about six weeks. Thankfully it was a cheque in NZ dollars, not US.
ekka49 Posted January 17, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2019 Our on board credit refund took about six weeks to arrive 💲
Rare Kangakid Posted January 17, 2019 #10 Share Posted January 17, 2019 We received our refund cheque end of last week, disembarked end of December, so roughly 2 and a bit weeks...thought that was pretty good going..
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 17, 2019 #11 Share Posted January 17, 2019 I cash out on the last night if I have any OBC, I use some of it for tips, the rest for the next cruise. One time I did have some left over, and it took around 3 weeks but they say it can take up to 6 weeks.
feejul Posted January 17, 2019 Author #12 Share Posted January 17, 2019 Thanks everyone for your replies, and I had thought the refund would go back to my credit card rather than a cheque, so that was good to learn. Thanks again.

With Princess we were told that the maximum they could pay in cash from the Passenger Services desk was $25. We were told we would receive a cheque in AUD. I have been looking expectantly in our letterbox every day from about Christmas day onwards, but nothing so far. I will get out my paperwork and contact Princess. Aus Traveller Posted January 18, 2019 #15 Share Posted January 18, 2019 I just phoned, and was told "The cheque's in the mail".😊
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 18, 2019 #16 Share Posted January 18, 2019 True, with Princess we put any of our OBC into a casino account. Then you have to cash out on the last night.

The operator said that the cheque was processed on the 11th (last Friday) and that it can take up to ten days to arrive.

I don't think the 10 days is all after the cheque was posted. I think some of that time would be for it to be processed through the Princess system. Transit time from Sydney would probably be two to three days.
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 18, 2019 #21 Share Posted January 18, 2019 Most likely, even still we only get the mailperson coming past 3 times a week now.

We have a mail delivery every weekday, and prior to Christmas, there was a delivery on Saturdays as well. However, I agree with your earlier comment that deliveries take longer now than they used to years ago. Following on my earlier post, my refund from Princess didn't come yesterday. Maybe on Monday ...... I will keep you "posted".😊
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 19, 2019 #23 Share Posted January 19, 2019 Yeah, before Xmas they were coming a bit more regularly and did visit on the Saturday (22nd) as well.
The_Big_M Posted January 19, 2019 #24 Share Posted January 19, 2019 Must be some ACT thing. Rest of Australia still gets deliveries from Australia Post 5 days a week.
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 19, 2019 #25 Share Posted January 19, 2019 Must be an ACT thing although I doubt it is just us, friends in Adelaide, near Albury and near Newcastle have made similar comments.
