evandbob Posted January 20, 2019 #26 Share Posted January 20, 2019 50 cruises so have had cabins almost every area of a ship. Personal "preferences are: mid ship balcony, mid deck, with cabins above and below. Slightly more aft balconies 2nd choice. We avoid low deck cabins, forward cabins, and interiors. Have gotten stuck with an aft cabin over the comedy club or piano bar, an interior below the Lido or buffet. Live and learn!
BoDidly Posted January 20, 2019 #27 Share Posted January 20, 2019 (edited) You're getting really good advice here. My rule of thumb especially if it's a Fantasy class ship, midship lower decks. I avoid balconies as the smokers have ruined that enjoyment. Even with the rule change its a wasted effort. Larger Vista ,Dream class I enjoy being on Lido deck .However not the very forward locations . Being close to the entertainment and food locations with out having to fight the masses on the elevators is a bliss. Aplmac Posted January 20, 2019 #28 Share Posted January 20, 2019 We once got 6207 on Victory. Right up forward! Great cabin, wheelchair accessible and all (that's what they gave us!) but when the ship is moving at night, you hear the Bam! when the ship steams into the oncoming swells. Only time I ever got a bit queasy/seasick: the motion was noticeable.
