Transiting Incheon

This depends - is it one ticket from Point A to Point C via Point Be (Incheon)? If so, everything should be checked through and you will need to re-clear security at Incheon, but you should not have to deal with any Korean immigration or customs (there will be a passport check to make sure you have the right visa/documentation for your destination, but that's not immigration or customs). Incheon is very efficient.

If you're on two separate tickets, that's a different story and you would likely need to clear Korean immigration and customs, grab any bags you checked, head to the check-in area for the next airline, re-check in, clear Korean immigration for exiting the country, clear security, and head to the gate.

So without all of the info, that's the best I can do ya.

Note that if you have a long connection, there are free tours from ICN.  You do have to clear Korean immigration and customs, but they will store your carryon and you can get a tour of Incheon or even Seoul (depending on how long your connection is).  Details on the ICN website - and reservations are recommended.

One ticket on Delta.   YYC- SEA-ICN-BKK.   4.5 hour layover at ICN but realistically about 3 hours or so allowing for de-planing/re-planing,

Carry on only-no checked bags.

Will look at the ICN website again to look for this tour.  We may be too tired given our schedule prior to that.

We arrived in the late afternoon.  No more tours that day but the tour desk was open.

This is our first time at this airport.  By far the nicest transfer airport to SE Asia that we have experienced.  Far better than Narita.

Definitely better than Narita. I usually end up at HKG (since I'm a OneWorld flyer), but it and ICN are tops for transit in Asia.
