Marriott: ? Re: Daypass & Beach

Has anyone ever taken a taxi to the Marriott planning to get a day pass only to find that none are available? (Let's say in mid Feb.  Not during a popular holiday time.) Also, if you bought one on property, do you recall the cost? Is there only one type or one with food & drink and one without?

Additionally, what is their beach like?  Sand - light or dark and rocky or smooth?  Sea water - calm or fairly good sized waves?  Restaurant Prices - very expensive or moderate to low cost lunch/bar options?

Thanks for any info!

We were there last March and when I looked online for a day pass they said that none were available.  We did take a taxi there as we had made reservations for the Emerald Mist Spa (great experience and very nice) which is at the Marriott.  After our spa treatments and using the facility we walked down to the beach.  The water was a little rough out front but a nice light colored sandy beach with plenty of loungers/umbrellas.  We also had lunch inside of the hotel at the moderately priced Lobby Bar,  mostly appetizer type foods before taking a taxi back to the pier.  There were other dining options and a grill by the pool.  Very nice facility and it was not crowded at all from what we saw.  Since we did not have the day pass we did not use the pooI or beach loungers but we did walk through the property. I was surprised that there were no passes online with the lack of crowd, however they might have had them at the front desk and we did not ask.

Thanks for the informative posts.  The reason I asked about anyone showing up and not being able to buy a daypass is because we once went to a hotel with cruise friends to buy a day pass in Aruba, however they were not selling any due having sold out already.
