Iona Construction ?

I'm guessing the part that's jutting out to the left of the picture is the section of conservatory cabins?

I believe that is just part of the superstructure as the ship step in and out along its length.  Not a straight sided ship like Britannia or Azura.  The conservatory mini-suites are on decks 8 and 9.  If you look at the deck below all the white sheeting draped down the side, you can see a row of frames sticking out, these maybe the conservatory cabins.

Just a guess, and the deck below with what looks like plywood boarding, is the Promenade deck with The Quays outside dining area.

Yep, I can see it now. Thanks 😄

I have no idea why I thought they were all mid-ship. Good call on the Quays btw - which until now I had not realised had an outdoor section. I just thought it was a food court type area inside the atrium.

More hull sections being delivered to the Meyer Werft shipyard, stabilizer parts.  Video from Stefan Meyer.

Another video from Stefan Meyer.  This time clearly Iona bow sections in transit to Papenburg.

Well done for working it out - I'm hopeless with any IT outside of anything I have already done!

I just hope for those going on Iona that P&O get their act together and sort out disembarkation at Southampton as it was pandemonium recently on Britannia and Iona has a lot more cruisers so trying to find your suitcases and lesving the port is going to take a long time and be a big problem.

Iona bow assembly has started in the dry dock.  In the foreground of the picture is the bulbous bow with the Norwegian Encore in the background, moved to the harbour end of the dry dock.  Autumn is noted at present for moving Encore out to the harbour.

My word that NCL artwork is hideous.

Apparently the artwork was done by the Spanish Artist Eduardo Arranz-Bravo.  Not my idea of art, but each to their own.

Must be great for the artists to see their work on such a scale, but I agree, each to their own.

At first, I was a bit worried that they had painted Iona like the clown ship. That was all you could see on first glance. Maybe that's what he was aiming for.

We have always found disembarkation at Southampton easy, even from Britannia, but we do tend to not rush, enjoy breakfast and then find a quiet corner with a newspaper and wait for the hoardes to diminish.

They are not quiet dragging us off, usually just after 9 and our cases are very easy to find as most have gone.

But we only have a short journey home and no connections to make, so it wouldn't work for everyone.

New webcam update in the construction hall, bow taking shape nicely. Shame the crane was in the way when they took the photo.

Found this on another page, if it works correctly you can pan the 3D photo around 180° and see Iona in the dry dock.  Also all along the dockside Iona mega blocks ready for assembly.

It shows one photo of the clown ship, then goes to photos of a ship in general and NCL. I went through loads thinking they might come up.

Thank you though.

It is 360 degree photo, if I hold the mouse over it I can spin the photo to see Iona.  It also works on my Iphone and Ipad by just rotating the phone.
