No beach, older ladies what to see/do in Barbados?

We like the beach, but if we didn't do it, what is the "main" thing/s to check out in Barbados that YOU thought was interesting to see or possibly do?

If you haven't been here before

do an island tour and see a lot of everything on the island.

 

They'll take you over to the East Coast, I'm sure

since that's the more scenic part of the island.

I would consider an island tour, or a visit to Holetown and Speightstown, or a visit to the gorgeous Hunte's Gardens or any combination of these.

 

We visited Hunte's Gardens in December and they are absolutely stunning and unlike any others we have visited. They have 5 star reviews on Tripadvisor and several thousand photos so worth having a read of some of them to help you decide. Public buses and taxis go there.

OK in Barbados, it was recommended to check out Holetown, and Speightstown there.  Are they gardens, or towns or what to check out, as I have never heard of either of them?

The first time there, we did a morning bus tour of part of the island.

We got off at St. John's Church and at a plantation.  We would do this type of tour again,

as we saw about a third of the island.  It was through the ship.

we took $5 cab to Mt. Gay Rum. Tour was 20 and lasted one hour.
