Nice toots from the NA.  CC is terrible today.  Updating takes forever and then you sometimes get the server error message.

Silhouette ends the parade for today.  Not a great tooting day today by any means.  Thanks Jacqui and the rest of the sail away gang.  Good night.

Thanks to all for the nice send-off!  We are on the Nieuw Statendam and the sailaway was beautiful, especially as we went out to sea and the sun set behind the Nieuw Amsterdam.  I hope this picture will post - if so, enjoy!

CC totally pooped out on me. What is up with this new and improved?

But otherwise the sail-away was nice.

Smooth seas and happy blue skies to all!

Finally able to get  back on to cc after it went down. Still retained webcams and sound. No toots from NS but 5 from NA.

It has taken me 15 minutes to just post -- I missed everything.

Don't like this new and improved site.

Wonder how long it will take for this post to show up.

I'm jealous of those of you who were able to get back in here earlier.  This is my first successful attempt since my SQL server flew the coop.   IT has taken 2 hours!

Okay this is just silly! How many weeks of this exact same issue? CC needs to get this looked at.

Took me a while to find, but in 1968 HAL became the first line to adopt the multi-section Lido dining concept

Thanks John, I wasn't aware of that; I do know in 1989 on our first ever cruise, there was a Lido restaurant on the ship that our 7 year old son thoroughly enjoyed!

BTW, I had to try for about 10 minutes to get the CC site to load again today.

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Do you know which ship or was it several at once?

Looks like Rotterdam V, Roy. From Capt. Schoonderbeek's really cool book "125 years of Holland America Line" = "In 1968 during an extensive refit the two-class system was abolished and the former Tourist Class day area was converted to a self service Lido restaurant"

In 1968, the HAL passenger fleet consisted of

Nieuw Amsterdam II "The Darling of the Dutch"

Statendam IV

Rotterdam V "The Grand Dame"

Ryndam II

Maasdam IV
