Wezzie & Mike Posted January 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2019 Ahoy Cruise Critic readers; I have a few questions about our upcoming “Carnival Mexican Rivera Cruise” I was hoping some of you savvy seafarers might be able to answer for us. Cabo San Lucas · It says we dock in Cabo San Lucas at 10:00am, is that ships time or local time is there a difference? · How congested is the tender lines in returning to the ship? · If we are in the secured tender area before curfew (Ship leaves at 7:00) are we guaranteed to get back aboard? · I am wanting to book a private fishing trip, and don’t want to explain to my wife how nice our ship looks leaving us behind. o My fishing trip would be from noon till 5:00pm, is that enough time to get back aboard? PUERTO VALLARTA · We are overnighting in Puerto Vallarta; o Docking at noon on 2/5/19 , leaving port at 4:00pm on 2/6/19. o Is there a restriction on returning to the ship during the night? o Does Carnival Splendor close the gangways at certain times? rnr4thatsme Posted January 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2019 Following... I think we are on the same cruise! I'm also wondering about docking time and how long it might take to get ashore as we are wanting to book a private boating excursion from noon till 4pm. No, you may come and go as often as you please. Twice now we have stayed in our condo in the Romantic Zone for the night. We enjoy the overnight sailings the most. One steward even said to us on the day after our stay in PV: " I see you didn't come home last night."
riffatsea Posted January 21, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2019 Cabo is on the same time as we are here in California. IF you are back at the pier around 5 then you have ample time to get back to the ship before 7! IF the ship leaves at 7 then you really need to be aboard by 6:30 to be sure! Puerto Vallarta is usually 1 hr different than ship's time. Just make sure you keep to ship's time and you'll be fine!!

riffatsea Posted January 21, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2019 SORRY! Correct that it is on Mountain time one hour ahead! I always remember that for Puerto Vallarta but not for Cabo!! Anyway just make sure to stay on ship's time and you'll be OK!
CRUZN-IS-FUN Posted January 22, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2019 I am also on this cruise and have done it several times. You will be just fine if you are ready to tender before 6:30. See you on board.
jdemps Posted January 22, 2019 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2019 If you are chartering a fishing boat, you can ask them to come back anytime you want. I would be back and in tender line at 6pm if it were me. Also, if you have FTTF or a suite, you can get priority tenders to get off earlier. Have a great trip!
