ama8122 Posted April 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2004 My husband and I want to book an eastern Caribbean cruise for October. I have narrowed the choices to these two ships. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which one would be better and why? tef43 Posted April 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2004 I had to vote for the Triumph, just because the Glory makes a port call in Nassau, and I have had my fill of the Bahamas for ever. ama8122 Posted April 7, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 7, 2004 I've only been there twice and have had my fill of the Bahamas as well. If we stopped there we wouldn't be getting off the ship. On our last cruise I got a good deal on a massage while we were in the Bahamas Imagination 5-2000 Millennium-honeymoon 12-2001 Majesty of the Seas 5-2002 Imagination 9-2003 Triumph or Glory 10-

Lady_K Posted April 7, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2004 I also had to decide between the Triumph, Victory, or Glory for a May cruise, and I ended up choosing Glory, partly because the other two didn't get into San Juan until like 5:00. I read some reviews that said it was kind of a waste since there wasn't a whole lot to do there in the evenings. I'm not crazy about Nassau, but at least we're there during the day. Boston6 Posted April 7, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Glory Pro: Newer ship - 2003 vs 1999 Glory Con: Short stay in Nassau & accompanying immigration hassle in St. Thomas Triumph Pro: No Nassau Stop Triumph Con: Slightly older ship - wear & tear will be more noticible than the Glory. Short stay in San Juan and stay is from 5pm to midnight. Not much better than Nassau IMO. The Glory is slightly larger interms of tonnage but the design opf the ships themselves is very similar. Both are stretched Destiny Class vessels. Sovereign of the Seas (11/89) Monarch of the Seas (8/99) Norwegian Sea (7/02) Carnival Glory (4/17/04)

1tonysmom Posted April 7, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Hi. I would have to say the Glory. We cruised to the Western Caribbean on her last Nov. and are doing the Eastern Caribbean this Nov. The ship is just gorgeous. Also, the Triumph gets to San Juan so late that you can't snorkel or anything. I know I have been to Nassau quite a few times, but the beaches there are great. Whichever ship you choose, you will have a great time.
