Is it just the Celebrity Board?

The Celebrity Board has almost become unusable.  It seems like about half the time the system is unavailable and it kicks me out.  It's becoming a lot less fun.  I keep hoping it will get fixed, but it only seems to get worse.

I’ve notice on a few occasions as of late I’ll get a “cannot reach the sql server. Try again later” error (or something like that). I’m usually able to get past it if I delete my browser history and then try again to go back into CC.

Yes, its been very slow or impossible to get in the last couple of days, so its not just you.

Looks like complete site is running slow.     I'm finding Celebrity Forum worse than others and often timing out and erroring out.    Possibly no one minding the shop on a 3 day weekend.

 

I agree it is very frustrating.

Thanks for the replies.  Things seem ok in the morning and in the late afternoon the server seems to fall apart.  I wonder if this is just another change CC made after the update.

I just logged in under Firefox and seem to be fine. Just rechecked on Chrome and got the SQL error. Will try FF in the future to see if it helps.

It is mainly Celebrity that becomes unusable,

just wrote to the powers that be to please FIX it.

Celebrity site is running VERY VERY slowly on Chrome - almost to the point of being unusable.  Azamara and Oceania forums are slow but usable

Having the issue on Firefox, Chrome and on my phone. But have had no issues on MSC or the Port boards/threads.

When people find this site unreachable or extremely slow, they go to "the unmentionable site".....and CC loses readership...translated that means advertising revenue.  That's about the worst, but happening, scenario.

 

Hopefully they will fix things soon because "that other site" is far less user friendly, at least to me.

I'm experiencing the same regardless of browser.  Have tried clearing Cache / History to no avail   I emailed CC early this morning but heard nothing back.

Other site Is where I’ve gone. Just created new account to see if Tapatalk works; it doesn’t really. Might as well chalk this up as a another site that lost its way and forgot that their members were their actual product.

I'm having the same problem. It seems to be tied to their SQL data base server. It may be the indexes will need to be rebuild. The last time they did this they lost a lot of posts. Keep your fingers crossed.

Been running on Firefox.  And yes, about half the time I get an error message.  Very frustrating!  Other parts of CC, like "Ports of Call" do not seem to be experiencing this problem.  The thing is, I spend more time on the Celebrity portion!

Been having difficulty since yesterday but only with tge Celebrity board, all others are responding normally.

Had real problems for a couple of days (as well as sporadically over the last month) but it seems better today.    It was not just Celebrity - the same, if not worse, on "Ask a Cruise Question", Princess, and Holland America.    As someone else mentioned, it's been just very slow (a full minute of the dreaded spinning wheel) or a time out mentioning SQL error.

The only one I visit that I have yet to encounter the error is Oceania.
