Le Galion Beach in St. Maarten

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm a first time cruiser going to the Eastern Caribbean this summer.  On of the ports of call is St. Maarten and it was suggested to us to check out Le Galion beach for beach time with little ones.  However, I've read reports that this beach is permanently closed.  Would anyone be able to confirm or deny that statement?

Thank you.

The beach is there and open.  Pat Turner's place, Tropical Wave, is gone.  I do not know if there are any amenities there now,

Okay. When were you there last?  Has the water quality returned to normal or is it still murky?

Not sure what you mean by "returned to normal." Clarity of water at any beach can depend on recent sea conditions at that beach.  If sea bed has been stirred up, then clarity of water declines.
