Anyone know if there is a max # of people for this deal?  We are a group of 13, 6 adults and 7 kids.

Thanks!

Yes, there is a limit. I think it's 6, we had I think 7 but they didn't really notice. 13 could get tricky, your going to have to feel that out. 7 kids, your kids will love this place, and so will the adults. For a family group as you have, the Marriott is the best ticket on St. Kitts. Sounds like a lot of fun, wish I was going back with you. Take care Todd

For those looking for transport from the ship to the Hotel you need only get off the ship, walk to the end of the pier where you'll see people trying to get you to take private tours, just tell them you need taxi to Marriott and they will direct you to the taxi organizer.  We just completed our cruise 3 days ago and the visit to the hotel 10 days ago.  There is a fixed rate for the taxi of 3 US dollars per person each way.  Very reasonable and good taxis.  We made arrangements for the taxi driver to pick us up and although he wasn't available to pick us up he did arrange for someone else to do it and he was there waiting for us at the exact time we asked.  Overall a thoroughly enjoyable day. Albeit a wee bit windy.

These pictures are really helpful Aesop081. It looks as if the ‘cabanas’ on the beach have more than two loungers each?  Is that by individual choice?  We will be a party of four - but it looks like any more than two will not be in the shade?

Also, the pool looks like loungers are full sun?  Are there umbrellas available?

We should get plenty of sun being on this trip, but the days of laying out in the sun all day are in the rear view mirror!

We were able to get 3 in the shade but they were very close together as you can see here with my father drying off after a swim._MG_0853.thumb.jpg.0eca81ab4ba457abd420d77dc8c1495a.jpg But 2 comfortably, and that day there was a good breeze of the ocean so even in the sun it wasn't hot.  Sunburn danger sure, but not hot.   The loungers at the pool all have movable tops that you can use to keep the sun off your head and body depending on which way you orient the chair to the sun.  The only picture I have of them is this one.  Well I have others but the wife forbids posting her in the bathing suite. 🙄   They would show her totally in the shade from the overhead sun shade on the chair.  _MG_0861.thumb.jpg.45519e44e3bbe615f7b9319a86f32a5f.jpg

Which resort for the day? Marriott or Park Hyatt?

5 adults coming from RC ship.

Distance from pier to resort?

and I know we can call for a day reservation, but if we haven't decided as a group yet what we want to do can you just show up and get the day pass?

Thanks

I've not been to the Park Hyatt but I have been to the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and The Royal Beach Casino several times, I've had a lot of fun here. This place is tough to beat. Day pass $35 only way to go or get a day room with your group we did in 2010 it was wonderful.

4 miles from Port Zante

At the Marriott this time of year I'm sure reservation aren't needed, I've said this before and I'll say it again when it comes to the St. Kitts Marriott, credit card, big smile, and the rest of the day will take care of itself. Marriott just show up no problem, have fun.

Question about the day room....I do not see this option on the website. Did you have to call to book this? TIA!

No ask them when you walk up to the concierge desk on your LEFT about your group getting a day room. Only way to go if you have 5 or more in your party, you'll freak on how nice this room is, I'm not sure the room fee but it's worth it, and includes your day pass.

You get burnt up, go back to YOUR room and chill and watch TV in BED until you cool off, it's sweet. If your party decides on getting a day room take snacks and a bottle or two of something so you can go back to YOUR room and have a nice drink.

Hope that helps Todd

I just called the Marriott.  The rate is $125.00 for the day room plus 24% tax.  This is only for 2 adults and 2 children.  When I asked about 2 adults and 4 children I was told that we would need two rooms as the promo was just for four people to a room.

Ah. They have changed their rules then. We were able to get 4 teenagers and my husband and I in 1 room in 2015. With 2 rooms the price is $310 including the tax as opposed to $210.  That's a shame but thanks for posting this. Are any of the kids under 12? I remember some sort of discount for that.  I was just there last month and I love it there. Watched tiger woods win while sitting in the pool.

I also mentioned that the children were all younger than 12.  At the same time, you can still get the day pass at $82.00 from Resort for A Day.  I wonder how long it will be before that price increases.

For the Marriott, and no I haven't called, but from the website I cant see. Do they have any rentals available, like snorkel, kayak, or paddle boarding?

Thanks

Nope, there are no rental's of anything. The above you have mentioned, none of which can be done from the beach at the St. Kitts Marriott. The Marriott is located on the southeast Atlantic side of the island, the ocean is unacceptable for kayaking, snorkeling, or paddle boarding. I can tell you this it certainly is a whole lot of fun to swim in!! The REAL DEAL ocean, there's nothing like it.

Excellent beach not only to lay out and enjoy your day, but this is a GREAT beach to walk, you'll figure it out, just keep walking it just keeps getting better. When you get about hmmmmm maybe a half mile up the beach(it's not far) turn to your right when you look out and see the ocean it will eliminate any misunderstanding anybody may have about "who's in charge".

Have a nice day Todd

We booked a day pass at the Marriott on our cruise in April 2018, never again.  We walked through the hotel and past the pool to the beach with not a single person on a chair, under a palapa, on a beach towel, or just walking or swimming in the ocean.  We plopped all our beach gear down and noticed a horrible smell.  That smell was emanating from seaweed that was probably a foot high and extended from one edge of the property to the other.  Next, along came these huge backhoes and dump trucks driving down the beach and scooping up all the seaweed to no avail, the seaweed was winning.  Forget about swimming when the seaweed is piled up in little mountains along the shoreline and being carted off by huge dump trucks filled to the brim.

We picked up all our gear and claimed some chairs at the pool for the remainder of our stay but could still smell the aroma wafting in from the seaweed.  Because the Marriott is on the ocean side, the seaweed problem is a big one.  Just be prepared to sit by the pool if you book a day pass.  The pool area is very nice but we were looking forward to swimming in the ocean and the pool area got very crowded when more people started showing up, walked to the beach, turned around and searched for a chair by the pool.

Also, the pizza is horrible, some of the worst I've ever eaten.

The seaweed is becoming a problem all over the Caribbean, especially so on the Atlantic side of the islands but not long until it is everywhere.  This year the Marriott has a fancy new machine that resembles a hay maker.  It drives down the beach each morning or after a tide and lifts it off the beach in 10 minutes piling it into a carrying trailer behind it and disappearing...somewhere.  Left the beach mostly clean and no smell, although that might be because of the breeze.  By lunch the beach was packed.  Not trying to be a fan boy, but just saying they're coming to grips with how to deal with that stuff.  If you check out the first picture I put up and zoom in you'll see a clean beach, this was about 2 hours after the "machine" drove down the beach.  Approx. 1100

I think it's a losing battle because the seaweed is still in the water.  We have the same situation on the east coast in Florida, the seaweed has been very bad.  Thank you for commenting.  We are booked on a cruise next year to St. Kitts and are investigating beaches/beach clubs on the Caribbean side of the island.

Just back from the Marriott and while there was some seaweed it was all gathering over on one side of the beach kind of in a cove and the rest was clean and beautiful. We did the room for a day which was $150 after tax, etc. and it was perfect. Would definitely do it again. We are Hilton Honors members so they upgraded our room and we opened our sliding glass door and stepped out to a pool all to ourselves. We stayed until 6pm and then got a cab back to the pier from the same driver who dropped us off originally. Good food, good drinks, (although resort pricey) beautiful beach, great rooms.  DH and I discussed its somewhere we would come back to just for vacation with the family. I am glad we spent the extra money for the room for a day. It was nice to cool off, relax and shower before we headed back to the ship. I called the hotel directly and made our reservation. No charge for deposit, paid when we left.
