Well, considering that Royal Caribbean goes through periods of not being able to take payments online, which means that online booking is impossible there, I can see why you would be used to telephoning them instead of using their website.

Maybe it seemed like 3.5 hours, but I know I was on the line with my TA and NCL for exactly 180 minutes before their system disconnected us.   Then we finished up in about 18 more minutes with a call back.

Sometimes special arrangements, discounts or extraordinary payment arrangements require one to speak with living beings both with the TA and NCL to get what is needed.   I dearly prefer to book online line everything, just like I shop, but their system are too stupid to do everything themselves without a human intervening or getting their supervisor to intervene.

Ha, I even had to call another office of the TA to get them to respond to my TA request to release are payments.  Great that we have two phone lines.

My only reason for mentioning this is because I was frustrated and love to cruise and would feel awful if these cruise lines loose busness becuase of poor customer service. Was looking to see if anyone else had this experience. A troll are u kidding?  It was 3 1/2 hours but of course I didnt sit holding my phone lol.  My time is way to valuable. I put it on speaker and had it near by incase someone came to assist me while I went about my business. In the end I was finally able to make my deposit on a cruise I had on hold . For the record I love crusing...I also come to cruise critics to share info and learn valuable information from others. Have a great day and lets hope nine of us have to deal with that kind of service.

I also had to go thru the casino to get my discount and waited as stated 3 1/2 hours .We even thought hmmm maybe its just that line so my hubby dialed the reservation regular  number mnot casino and gave up after an hour. I guess it was a bad day for good customer service.

Reminds me of the scene in Airplane when Robert Hayes is a cab driver and picks up a passenger at an airport and starts the clock.  He tells the passenger he will be right back.  Instead he boards a flight and eventually is forced to land the plane.  During the entire movie the passenger in the cab patiently waits, waits, and waits.

Good morning and thank you for calling Norwegian Cruise lines.  Yes, I would like to book a cruise.  Wonderful, please hold. (sun goes down, sun comes up, winter turns to spring, kids graduate college and get married)

Thank you for holding.  Sorry for the wait. Which cruise are you interested in?

ok, well then here are your choices: book on line: book via a TA or go back to RCI. I can't imagine waiting 3 plus hours. I waited about 20 minutes to book a restaurant on the Dawn a week ago, but would never wait much more than that. I am sure there was a reason for the long wait.
