How long to get an email response from RC?

Hi,

just wondering what peoples experiences are with regards getting a response to queries sent to Royal via email? Calling them isn't an option for me due to the the timezone difference / to the US, and the UK numbers seem to be a premium rate line! I sent my message nearly a week ago and haven't heard anything bar an automated response, any follow ups I send give me the same automated response along the lines of 'thanks for your email,we'll be in touch'.

Thank you for that, the number on the .co.uk website is different, and charged at 7p per minute.

I'll try the one you provided, thanks again.

If you get a chance, please post whether the number works and is still free.

While I would certainly find it annoying to have to pay a charge to call I would not let being charged 7p per minute deter me from calling and getting an answer to my question in a timely manner instead of waiting on a response by e mail.  Even if the call took an hour you are still talking just over $5US.

I haven't made my millions yet, but if I do, it wont be by wasting money on paying for calls that should be free.  :)

Yes Bob the number still works, just tried it. The last option says (in an American voice) 'To speak to the next available representative, please stay on the line'. In the past when I've used the number they will just transfer you to the department you want.

This may not help you, but I sent a long email last summer asking RCI to make the casino a non smoking area on our 50 th anniversary cruise March 14, 2020.  I have read that smoking is so bad on some cruises that it migrates to surrounding areas. I explained that 2 of my 3 grandchildren have Cystic Fibrosis.  The reply came in 2 weeks.  The decision has been referred to an internal review.

During Q&A on President Cruise, Bayley said there would be a lot of throwbacks to the early years.  Maybe smoking anywhere on the ship would apply. 😱

Stone xb,
You did not say what department you were emailing, or what type of question you had. I've found that the answer to your question varies GREATLY depending on just that. For example, sales may get back to you a lot faster than customer service, which is still WAY faster than you will hear back on accessible shore excursions. I hope you get the answer your looking for.

Tom47, I am really sorry to hear about your grandchildren. I would certainly not mind if they ALWAYS made it a non-smoking area. (I love to play, but hate the smoke.) With that said, I don't see them granting your request. If they were to do so, they would be setting a prescient that would then require them to change their rules anytime someone claims to have a milestone occasion and medical reason to request such a change. My guess is they will tell you to keep your grandchildren away from the casino. Sorry. Best wishes to you and your grandchildren, and early congrats on the 50th.

Agree.  When I have a special dining room request, I usually get confirm within 3-4 days of acknowledgement.  Actual confirm of my request is in the subsequent 7 day range.  This most recent time, requested a table for 2 for my upcoming Symphony sail, and did not hear from them at all.  Sent an additional e-mail to a different dining room e-mail  AL_RestaurantOperationsCoordinator02@rccl.com and finally got my response.

Lately, it takes some patience.

just a quick update,

I managed to track down a freephone number that works for people in Ireland (like myself)

1800 555 604

Thanks for this.

TY PIF.  I waited another 6 weeks and asked for the results of the review.  They said the review was internal and I would find out when I boarded.

I have always had great success with rcldining@rccl.com for any dining room needs I have....one or two days.  Keep in mind that if you send in your request too early, they may be working on requests for cruises that are taking place before yours.  I usually send in my request 3-4 weeks prior to cruise departure date and get back response in a day or two.

Which Symphony sailing are you going to be on....we will be on the 2/9 departure?

Feb. 2nd sail.  My original request was to RCL dining and no response.  Followed with the e-mail that I posted and got some results.

Hmmm, that gives me hope that non-smoking casinos are under consideration (generally, not as a result of a specific request) and might be in effect by March 2020.

Enjoy your sailing....we will be passing you as you get off of her we will be getting on.   I have always had good success with the rcl dining email address....so I don't understand why you did not.  But you got what you needed in another way....always more ways to get an answer.
