Same here.  If you need people to fill a tour my husband and myself would love to join you.  We did private tours with other CC folks on a med cruise and it worked out great.

We are getting ready to book a private tour with Overlord tours for six people, there is room for two more if anyone is interested.

So have been looking at Shore excursions and booked a couple.  Anybody have any plans for Rotterdam ?  Thinking of going to Amsterdam for the day.  Anybody else thinking of doing this ?

Anyone else notice that Le Harve excursions through Carnival were posted today (12/4) and many are already SOLD OUT.  I guess folks who can’t spend hours daily on the web site will need to seek out private tours.  Already missed out on the German concentration camp in Kiel and now Versailles Palace from Le Harve.

Very disappointing.

My husband and I are very disappointed as well. I called Carnival and they said that they do not have a shore excursion office and that the only thing to do is to look on their site periodically.  I have been looking for the past two weeks and only saw Le Havre shore excursions today. How can they be sold out^

This was just posted on another group that I belong to.

I just called tech support. A ticket will be given to IT and hopefully they will fix the Le Havre tour problem soon. There are now 4 out of 7 tours showing sold out but tech support verified they were not.

When I went in yesterday I noticed that the excursions were open again.  We were able to book Normandy the other day even though it said sold out.

Thanks for the heads up Belkin.  I also contacted Carnival and was advised of the IT problem (since resolved).  We bought our Versailles tickets yesterday.  Thanks again.

This just broke on the PR Newswire used by stock screeners. Has anyone else seen anything about this or heard from Carnival?

MIAMI, Dec. 20, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Carnival Cruise Line has been informed by officials at the Meyer Turku shipyard that delivery of Mardi Gras will be delayed and is advising booked guests and travel advisors that the first revenue sailing of the ship will be Nov. 14, 2020.

With this new schedule, Carnival will now take delivery of the ship in late October and its first revenue sailing will depart from Port Canaveral on Nov. 14, 2020.  Consequently, the first eight sailings that were scheduled starting Aug. 31 have been cancelled, including European, transatlantic and New York-based itineraries and four Port Canaveral itineraries.

Carnival said that the guest notification process began promptly after the notice by Meyer Turku so that impacted guests could begin to make alternative vacation plans.  As a gesture of goodwill, Carnival is offering these guests a 25 percent future cruise credit (FCC), in addition to the full refund of their cruise fare (and applicable fees and taxes and other pre-purchased cruise components), as well as assistance with non-refundable airline and hotel reservations already booked. In addition, if guests rebook their cruise vacation using their 25 percent FCC by Feb. 18, 2020, they will be credited with an additional $100 per person onboard credit for that cruise.  Carnival has also communicated guidelines to travel advisors regarding commission protection.

"We have been working closely with Meyer Turku executives to keep the Mardi Gras delivery on schedule, and while we deeply regret disappointing our guests, this change in the delivery date is required to make sure all of the ship's systems, features and technology will be fully operational, so that we can give our guests the vacation they expect. Our commitment is to deliver a great and innovative ship, and Mardi Gras will definitely be that when it arrives in North America," said Ben Clement, Carnival Cruise Line's senior vice president of newbuild.

Our bookings are gone too. No word from Carnival. I learned from this post of JH’s.

and we can’t complain because we look like (Insensitive) schmucks.

Carnival should have handled this (the breaking of the news) better.

I am not upset about it, but I would have preferred to have Carnival press the send button on emails to affected cruisers prior to issuing the press release stating that they had been in contact with affected cruisers.

As to how they handle it the situation going forward we shall see, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt. I think we all knew in the back of our minds that the possibility of a delayed delivery always exists on an inaugural cruise.  I had  used a 25% FCC applied to this sailing from a shortened cruise earlier this year, so I am anxious to see how that is handled.

On the plus side, CCL stock beat on earnings and revenue, and despite this delay, it is up 6% this morning!

Stupid question?

do we get a 25% FCC on our deposit only or on the amount we would have paid when final payment was due in June.

we had a suite booked..I can’t see CCL giving me 25% on that amount..
