Well, this is off-topic ... but, each time we embark, a new digitized photo is taken & stored and I don't know whether it's archieved or stored permanently or discarded/erased upon disembarkation ... maybe kept for X time period for privacy & security reasons, as it is linked/cross-referenced to your permanent Latitude member profile/account #/etc.  

 

Even without using the above, deployment of AI and facial recognition software apps can do amazing & near instant matches and profiling, if not already in use by cruiselines now.  When we're on the other lines, the ship's photographers didn't even need to asked for our stateroom #'s and/or swipe our keycards, and I don't believe a smartchip was embedded then for NFC.  The photos were grouped & digitally sorted in our folders for review and onboard purchase. 

 

Another "bump" for any current info on the Dawn, sailing her soon / ahead of "jaja" above ...

I must respectfully disagree. Jeimy was the CD on the Sun repo from Chile to Miami a month ago. She did most of the announcements both in English and Spanish, but that was totally reasonable given the passenger demographics. At some events, she asked if anyone present only spoke Spanish, but that was to determine whether translations would not be necessary. It certainly had nothing to do with favoritism or exclusion of any other groups.

 

As far as likeability, everyone with whom I spoke adored her (as did I). Of course, you're welcome to your opinion; that's why there are so many flavors of ice cream.

Looking for who is on the Joy, we are on the Sept.7th sailing to Alaska in the Haven. Had a great crew in December on the EPIC, Omar was the concierge, PJ Haven bartender, and Richard was our butler. All the officers/staff did a fantastic job.

The Joy has been a real mystery as far as senior officers is concerned. For months, I’ve asked many officers on other ships if they have any idea who’s going there, and nobody seems to have a clue.  If anyone sails her, please post a list.

Great crew, think it was first cruise for CD as CD. He was okay but to be honest, not a lot of activities outside poolside & did not see him or his staff too often. In all fairness tho, could be because I wanted to be outside in the sun & maybe they had things going on inside, but didn't see as many activities as other cruises IMHO. Even the GLOW party, only saw him for a while, didn't notice any other staff dancing with the crowd as I have on other cruises. But wonderful crew otherwise & a great cruise. Have a great time!!
