LouisianaCruiser4200 Posted January 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2019 Someone asked John Heald about getting the Mardi Gras to Galveston and he said her sister in 2021 would need a home and he would see what he can do 🙂 John is known for dropping little hints like this months before announcements. Maybe???

Rare Saint Greg Posted January 31, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2019 Do it. Then send Vista to Orlando and Brees to New Orleans.
tidecat Posted January 31, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2019 Since the second Mardi Gras-class ship is scheduled to enter service in October 2022, this could make for some interesting dancing of the ships in 2022-23. Given the fall delivery date, if Carnival were ever going to transition to year-round service from New York, this would be the time to do it. Of course, Norfolk, San Diego, and San Francisco will want increased service, and Port Canaveral will want to recoup their investment in LNG they are making for Mardi Gras. The safe bet is that the second Mardi Gras-class ship takes over the routes belonging to Mardi Gras, Mardi Gras takes over the 4/5 day routes from Port Canaveral, and Elation or Liberty finds work elsewhere. If a Mardi Gras-class ship heads to Galveston, I would expect Vista to be sent to Fort Lauderdale and/or New York, with possibly some Norfolk and Europe/Transatlantic service thrown in there as well for either Vista or Breeze. Vista could also head to New Orleans, which would free up Glory or Valor for new service.
