In Coquimbo today .. A delightful Chilean town . When we were there we took the shuttle bus around the bay to the historic town of La Serena on the hill. Coquimbo is also famous for the gigantic cross that stands above the town , a rival in size to Rio.

At the port of General San Martin in Peru today . From one the worlds wettest areas , they are now in an area that gets NO rain .

Nothing much there, middle of the desert, couple of 'resorts.'  San Martin is the gateway to Pisco, across the water.  We were there doing this cruise in 2014 on Golden Princess.

The pic of the sunken fishing ship looks like the same one that was there when we were there in 2003.
