Celebrity seems to be doing everything in its power to eliminate opportunities for shade, thus the wire cage cabanas.

They remind me of bird cages and once you’re locked in, you will bake in the hot midday sun. A little like a punishment: dare your moan at GS and you’ll be sent straight to the cages 🤣.

We REALLY enjoyed Silk Harvest, followed by Tuscan Grille, and lastly the tired Murano menu... Though it did often seem that Silk Harvest had plenty of open seats.

Looking forward to see what kind of menu they have at Craft Social. I enjoyed the burger at the Gastrobar - actually preferring that it was at a cost (so that the place wasn't packed)!  🙂

Tom

Craft Social does look promising!

Too funny,....

wonder who comes up with these "great ideas" ....

Kids may enjoy climbing in them....like they enjoyed swinging in the chairs  in the Hideaway coffee lounge!!!!

Probably a tarp on top. And the air will circulate like a tee pee.  However who knows!  The celebrity infinite balcony was a good example of a cabin not well thought out!   We booked an alcove for a sea day as we have been to key west multiple times. We spent $99 so not a big deal if we don’t use it.  People waste more in the casino and on bingo

The renderings show them having a ceiling of sorts and it looks like the solid side panels may move around. The Reflection and Silhouette version of the alcove has a more traditional looking canopy, but it really doesn't provide much shade either. The rattan/wicker look is definitely back in at the moment, but as with everything else, cruise lines adapt those styles a bit past their prime.

Hmm . . . This doesn't look like a "wire cage" Cabana.

These cabanas are a different shape than the others on some S class ships we have sailed...

Our worry would be the noise from constant movies/soundtracks from that screen

Just off Infinity and the noise/sound level from the deck 12 movies was terrible... Very loud. Perhaps they thought everyone had hearing issues... It was a daily struggle

If I am in a cabana  here-- you will have no choice. Unfortunate because if it was quiet, we'd be more included to reserve a cabana

Was on the Summit before the Renovation and some AQ class cabins were near the deck that was a sun deck with a movie screen.  Many people in AQ near deck were very unhappy.  The noise and traffic in the corridor was a problem.  Maybe this problem was fixed-but if you go on the Summit- review the deck plan before you go.

We were in one of the five aft facing Aqua rooms on deck 11... the noise from the rooftop deck with the huge screen was terrible. Couldn't hear someone when sitting on our own balcony as the soundtrack for Jurrasic park etc was so loud.

Well, Jim, a lot could happen as she makes the crossing!  Let’s hope they stay.  One theme of Edge and the revolution of the M Class ships seems to be less shade.  😱

There are no plans to remove the shading from the Pool Deck area. . .
