Diamond lounge access

My DH and I are both Diamond and are planning to cruise on the Anthem with our adult daughter in our cabin. She is a past RCL passenger but is not up to Diamond. Will she be able to accompany us to the Diamond lounge since she is in our cabin on the same reservation?

No.

Celebrity allows that but not Royal.

They load 3 free drinks on your card for this purpose.  You can go to any bar, enjoy your free drinks, while your daughter pays for hers.

Sorry,  no she will not. Imagine how crowded the lounge would be if everyone bought extra guests? Most nights there is already a long wait for drinks, and few chairs to be found. Just use your 3 free drinks and go to any bar on board with her.

You will find a very explicit letter from Diamond concierge when you board, explaining no family/friends allowed in without being D and above themselves.

As others have mentioned...use your drink vouchers at any bar.  Nice feature for that reason.

These days the concierge will ask to see everyone’s Sea Pass card, even those who play it cool.

We just spent two weeks on Freedom and the concierge never once asked anyone for their sea pass card.  Ever.

We overhead someone on a beach bragging about how their Diamond friends were taking her into the Diamond lounge every night to drink for free.....

Our experience has been on the first night, the concierge is very diligent to check sea passes....as they should...it helps them get acquainted with who they will be seeing on the subsequent nights.   I have seen the concierge turn people away, again as they should.  People who try to abuse the system, make it unpleasant for everyone.....even the staff, who know exactly what their job is.  Believe me, it isn't enjoyable to be behind someone as they try to abuse the privileges.

That's exactly why the concierge needs to be checking Sea Pass card.

Yes...some Concierge's will ask to see it the first night...but there are some very observant ones that check your SeaPass account (picture) beforehand and know what you look like. We've had this happen a few times and call us by name as we enter that first night and have even asked where other family members (that also had access) that were traveling with us, where they were. Usually after the first night they easily recognize you by site.

We were on the Anthem November 2017 with a very observant Diamond  concierge.  She checked cards and stood by the door most nights.  Going to the bars with your friends is a nice way to pass the time.  The only thing missing are the nibbles.

Good for her! (the concierge that is!)

We have seen many people bring "guests" on the Anthem and order them drinks. But this one episode will remain with me....Once a waiter asked for the "guests" sea pass cards and the woman yelled derogatory remarks at him. An argument ensued. Waiter  said he would not bring any drink till they show the card. Woman gets nastier. Concierge hid his head behind the computer and pretended he did not hear. Small crowd was beginning to form and I was suspecting drinks to be really flowing on people.....ta da! Some one from the delinquent party with a really  bad aim threw it over me.  Some chicken wings flew bye as well. Still the concierge was oblivious, covering behind the computer as if he was in a coma. This is on the big sofa to his left. Somebody called security. Security came in and broke the free for all.  Asked many of us questions. Spoke with the concierge in coma. He shrugged and went back to being a vegetable. I wanted to go check his pulse! Delinquent party was escorted out. Did not see them for a couple of days and saw them in the overflow area every evening, sitting in no man's land with the "guests" drinking and nibbling on the snacks. What do they say about a dog's tail?!

Never have seen this....🤔

I have multiple times, in Diamond Lounge and Concierge. Couple times when was crowded and few others when less people in there. Couple was embarrassed when found not to be Diamond, was funny watching few others leave before they were asked...

That's because they weren't playing it cool.  :classic_rolleyes:

We had a concierge on Rhapsody -- if she didn't recognize you, she walked up and asked who you were and what stateroom you were in, then checked you off her list.    When we first boarded, I overheard a couple in the hallway talking about sneaking into the Diamond Lounge.  I just kinda smiled and thought to myself, not with this Babe.

  • Isn't this like buying the drink package for one and then sharing it with friends or family.  People who take advantage of the system are the same ones who complain the loudest when they are caught and ruin it for the honest.  Let her buy her drinks like all the lowly non D's have too.  However, all I have to do is ask my Genie to have the drinks waiting for me and I am good to go anywhere, except the D Lounge, I don't qualify yet.
