Hello again, those folded bags on top of the safe, are they the laundry bags? We are hoping to use them, hopefully we get cloth bags and not paper ones.

I also hope the safe can take an 11 inch iPad?

I’m not sure about the iPad - some have said they don’t fit - not sure which size. Maybe they will jump in here.

Heres a close up of the bags on top of the safe:

That looks like it can take a lot of laundry!! Yes!! we can adjust our packing at least. Though we have to be careful what we place in there.  Some reviewers say, nothing that shrinks or that is very wrinkly.  Apparently it is just washed and folded.  Good for the undies, socks and sleepwear then.

Love that there are lots of pillows..we love pillows. We actually bring our own pillowcases.

Thanks a mil!!.

I have one of the older ipads... not sure of size...but it does not fit into the safe... Smaller than safes we have had on other ships... big enough for our iphones, wallets jewelry and a small camera...but tight.

One other thing I think is important to note... when looking at sq ft published for the ship... be careful comparing to other ships. I say this because while the stated square footage for IV is about 40 sq ft if you measure usable space.. it is much smaller... but on a ship like silhouette the measured usable space is closer to the stated sq ft in literature... the reason for the difference is that they do not consider the walls in their calculations.  IV is a great concept in my opinion but the size I found disappointing. Not so much for me... because I seldom use a regular veranda... but DH will usually spend hours sitting outside and he felt it was too cramped for him...

This was a great idea to put all this in one place... so many are confused about the differences in categories.

Have you come across any changes in categories? I ask because recent and still incomplete list of obstructed cabins... appears to have a category E5... which seem to be the most obstructed of the obstructed cabins. I have not seen this reflected on TA sites as of yet... so I wondered if it was a misprint or something that should not have been released (since it still seems to be missing a couple of obstructed cabins).

Someone on the Edge Cabin sticky asked about Edge decks 6 and 12 for cabin choices. My take is that Deck 6 has quite a few obstructed cabins because of the tenders/lifeboats. Here is a list of obstructed cabins on the Edge.

EDGE_Percent_Obstructed_View-1.pdf

On Deck 12,  I always worry about noise from the pool deck - mostly the moving of chairs/loungers overhead and music from the pool deck at times you might hear on balcony. There is also an overhang in many areas so could be less sunny for the sun worshipers. There are some quieter places on 12 that would be so handy to many venues and nice locations. 🙂

Thank you for this great overview.

Apologies if this has been already answered somewhere but we read on one of the Edge threads that some IV cabins have the bed at the veranda side instead of near the bathroom (side)

Is it possible to identify the location of the bed on the deck plans?

Thanks!

The answer is yes and no. 🙂  The deck plans are pretty accurate (with indentations for which end of the cabin the bed is on), though we have found a handful of cabins that didn't match the deck plans. If you let me know which one(s) you are thinking of, I can give you an educated guess (what the deck plans show and if there are surrounding cabins that are not correct per the deck plans, which could mean that cabin is backwards as well). I have a list of the "backward" cabins that have been identified so far. 🙂

Thank you vtcruising.

We don't have a specific cabin in mind yet, but we didn't know about indentations on the deck plan and now we do!

Well, we had sort of seen them, but didn't really register what they meant....

I guess that where the indent is, is where the bed will be located? (Ie the bit where the indent juts into the neighbouring cabin?)

Here is a thread that helps figure it out - the first post has pictures:

I was on the ship 2/10/19.  My iPad fit in the safe when I took the cover off.  Hope that helps.  Also the laundry bags are paper.

Thanks! I think people were talking about the bigger ipads not fitting. Glad yours fit! The cloth bags were from November 27th, 2018 - we were in concierge so I'm not sure if that made a difference or if they have changed to paper. 🙂

Maybe when can get this topic pinned?

Interesting idea - I'm not sure about how many topics the moderators want at the top. I could put a link in the Edge Cabin Info sticky to make it easier to find.

Cruise on the edge on November 1. Our cabin is just an ocean view. The room number is 3183. I didn't see any information on a plain Oceanview. Did I miss It

Sorry that I didn't give more info. I did mention cabin categories 07 & 08 in the first post under the Oceanviews, which are the deck 3 Oceanview cabins, and i mentioned that they are 200 sq ft. I have a little more info now. Three people have reviewed them for the Edge cabin info spreadsheet so far and 2 were very positive, though one person had some banging noises in 3150 and was moved.

Your cabin looks to be in a good spot. I've walked by those cabins and they have a quiet hallway. The elevators and stairs are close by. The cabin is convenient to the MDRs, Guest Services and the Grand Plaza. It is under the casino, but someone who reviewed 3191, just 3 doors down from yours, said that they heard no noise from the casino. They said they loved the location. Here is a picture of a category 08. These cabins still have the larger bathrooms and showers, king beds and other amenities of other Edge cabins. They look very nice to me. 🙂

This is the deck plan for 3:

This is the 4th deck above - you can match up (I usually match the elevators) to see what is above you:
