Bar menu question regarding scotch

Recommended Posts

We will be on the Ecstasy in December. This will be his first cruise and our honeymoon, so I'd like to keep him happy.

(We live on a boat, so he's not sure why we're vacationing on one 🤔)

His favorite drink is simply a nice Scotch. I'm not seeing any listed anywhere, but I'm sure there would have to be some in one of the bars. Something along the lines of McCallan or Glenlivet 12 at least.

I see that I can get a bottle of Deveron 16 delivered through the Fun Shops, but I am hoping someone will be able to verify if we can find scotch at one of the bars. He isn't a real drinker, but this is his one-a-day.

I have had plenty of McCallan on previous Carnival cruises. McCallan is my go to Scotch, so I'm not sure what others are available, but if he likes McCallan, he'll be satisfied. Have fun!

Yeah, The McCallan is my go-to Scotch as well.  Usually available at most of the bars that aren't near the Lido pool, IIRC.

I'm not familiar with the Ecstasy, but I would guess the Alchemy Bar and maybe the Metropolitan Bar at the very least.

The Casino Bar and the Atrium bar seemed to have the most selection of higher end stuff when we were on the Ecstasy.

As another who is fond of Scotch, I refer to a posting from Carnival a couple months ago.  This will go hand in hand with the Whiskey blending thingy that he will certainly want to attend:

BLENDED SCOTCHES
Chivas Royal Salute
Chivas Regal 18
Dewars 12
Chivas Regal
Dewars White Label
Cutty Sark

SINGLE MALT SCOTCHES
Macallan Enigma
Aberfeldy 16
Macallan Quest
Highland Park 12
Ardbeg 10 year  DO IT DO IT DO IT
Glen Deveron 16
Glenlivet Founders Reserve
Aberfeldy 12
Glenmorangie 10 year
Aulmore 12

The Whisky Blending on the Horizon used Dewars products.  But very interesting in terms of learning more about different styles and when actually blending your own.  Depending on your definition of sipping, you may wish to schedule "nap Time" immediately following.

I remember someone saying the bar in/by the steakhouse had the best collection of Scotch on the ship, and you don't have to eat there. I don't know for sure. Just something maybe to look into.

My husband loves Aberfeldy 18 and always gets this from the casino and the atrium bar.  He drinks mostly scotch and discovered this one on a cruise and is now hooked but yes, there is a good scotch selection onboard and they usually do a scotch tasting in the fun shops that is very informational.  He always likes attending and has gotten good deals on Aberfeldy to bring home.
