Thrak,

Thrak, congrats on your first overseas cruise (doing the British Isles or a TA?).  We've always taken the National Express bus to Southampton the multiple times we've done a cruise out of there.  They stop at two of the terminals at Heathrow as I recall and you can't beat the price.  https://www.nationalexpress.com/en  Buses run frequently down to Southampton with usually a quick stop at historic Winchester.  What hotel are you staying at?  We've usually stayed pretty close to the bus stop so could walk, but there are always taxis there, too.  Look forward to hearing more about your cruise.

The cruise is a 12 day Search for the Northern lights - round trip from Southampton to Alta, Norway. We are staying at Southampton West Quay. The address is 96 Harbour Parade. I actually went to the Smith's site the other day and used their form requesting a quote for travel both ways but the stupid form totally bombs on submission each time. Very lame. So... I'm still not set for transportation. I'll check the link you posted but have no idea if any of the stops are near the hotel. Fortunately there is a lot of time still before the cruise. (We fly to Barcelona after this cruise and have 4 days there before embarking for a 14 day TA to FLL.)

Yep, that's the Premier Inn.  Very convenient to the pier, the big mall, and to High St. the lower part of which has some interesting historic buildings.  Premier Inn is about 700-800 ft from where National Express stops so unless you have tons of luggage, it's quite walkable.  Might want to get a taxi to the pier (probably Ocean Cruise terminal) because it's further away than the bus station.  Hope you do get to see the Northern Lights!  On our 2009 or 2010 WB TA, we did see them although it meant getting a call at 2 in the morning (or some ungodly hour).  You'll be much further north so I assume the odds are pretty good, unless cloudy skies.

We are staying three days after our cruise in London so need transportation from Dover cruise port to our hotel in Trinity Square near Tower of London . Does anyone know of a company that provides this transportation?

National Express coaches go from Dover to London (get a taxi at either end) and are very cheap. Also, there is the High Speed train from Dover to Stratford International (which is East London) where you could get a taxi from that station to your hotel. Otherwise, Premier Taxis (based in Folkestone) would charge about £130. Although it should only take just over an hour and a half drive, it depends on the time/day you do it. The motorways down here in Kent are a nightmare and at the moment are stacked up with lorries trying to get from Dover to France. There's been loads of road works as well as accidents, so just give yourself a whole load of time. Train would take under an hour to get there.

Thanks for the info.  We just booked with International Friends for $96 each.  The van has maximum of 8 passengers and a maximum of 4 stops.  They will pick us up at the pier.  Our cruise ends June 30, so we'll see how it is.

Hi all, we are a party of 14, I went through First Choice Minibus Service  Ltd.

Have a 16 pax minibus for £369 for all of us LHR to Southampton. Its the first

time out of the Western Hemisphere for 10 of them. Thought it best to keep all

the ducks in a row.
