Where are you seeing no storage in the updated cabins? This fleet wide overall is to bring other ships to a level similar to the Edge and the Edge has plenty of cabin storage space.  The thing is is is all behind flush door panels.  Really just looks like wood trim until you open it.

Come on Lisa.  Wake up.  Maybe you and Kelly should share that IV or sky suite on Edge for a month.  It might help you get in touch with what your loyal cruisers really value.  As one female CEO to another I learned long ago that the small things really matter.  Small things like functional coffee tables, footrests, loungers on the verandah, generous closet and drawer space to name but a few.  It is not rocket science.  Just get in touch with the customer, not Kelly.

In my opinion she has ruined the brand.  Wonder how long it will take them to wake up.

Thank you so much for sharing this.  On our first 8 night cruise in the suite there are just 2 of us.  On the 11 night cruise in June there are 3 of us.  I hope that is a queen sleeper sofa.  Mostly concerned that the second full bath was preserved as well as the butlers pantry with the full sized refrigerator.  It would be insane to do away with those two things, but I have seen many insane basic things changed on the Millenium and totally insane things on the Edge.  An example from this picture is the absence of a functional coffee table.  I have fond memories of inviting friends to the suite for some champagne and treats that our butler provided.  No way to gather around the living room and enjoy that in this suite.  How absolutely STUPID.  I bet that the “cabinet” under the TV has no drawers.  I am almost afraid to see the rest of the redo.

I think Celebrity should require Kelly Hoppen to live in an EDGE Sky Suite for a month....WITH THE ROCKING CHAIR!  And not allow her to bring a blow up foot rest.  No, wait....even better....make her live in an IV on the EDGE WITH a rocking chair.  What are they thinking.  I will be anxious to see if the Penthouse Suite verandah is more IKEA or Homewood Suites.  Wait...maybe that is where the 26 rocking chairs have found their new home.

You should send her an email, maybe you could catch her ear. The person in the thread below was able to get a response back from her assistant (although yours would be a different kind of query). It doesn't hurt to try, you know never know, maybe she'll take you up on an offer to hear you out on your concerns.

She is a Royal C person who is implementing what Royal C wants X to become..

.I doubt she makes all the programmatic  decisions  ( no traditional trivia)   and the  hideous decor choices by herself!

Have to say I'm somewhat disheartened with all the negative posts about the updates and revitalization program.  I haven't sailed on Celebrity since 2005 when we did Concierge Class on Constellation.  Since then I've mostly done MSC Yacht Club, NCL/Princess Suite Class and lots of European River Cruising.  I was hoping to return to Celebrity and find them "cutting edge" for mass market ocean cruising like they were back in 2005 (IMO).  I guess I'm still excited about my upcoming trip and I'll reserve judgement till I've experienced Summit in person.  From the images, I like the design changes.  The whole debate reminds me of when Ritz-Carlton decided to start their revitalization several years back and get rid of the European Antique look and modernize as well.  So much uproar initially.

Agreed. I'm very much looking forward to my February 2020 cruise on Summit. I understand changes to old favorites are difficult. I'm trying Celebrity for the first time after Royal, and it was difficult for me to give up old favorites like mini-golf on a windy day at sea and the 70s party. But I'm sure I'll find things to become my favorite things about Celebrity. I'm approaching it with a totally open mind! 🙂

We will be on our 20th Celebrity cruise on Equinox in November and are looking forward to the majority of the design changes.  So far I'm disappointed that the removed the library on M class ships to add a few more inside cabins and are replacing Cellar Masters with Craft Social.  If the new bar has a good wine selection then we're good to go.  I also wish they were not eliminating a lot of shade options, such as removing the covering from the sunset bar.

  • in January on Edge, no dance parties 50’s- 90’s.  Just a lot of music you couldn’t dance too. Hope this will change.even young people like to dance.
  • they did have silent disco. A lot of fun.  White party, that no one knew about in the wind.  Hardly anyone showed up.

thx!

do they replace slot machines during drydock?

From the pictures of the casino above it sure looks like they did to me.   Maybe they just moved them out during carpeting and then moved them back in.

Anyone have an idea when the Summit departs the Bahamas and if she makes an intermediate stop along the way to San Juan?

See her Monday!

Cheers!

Ken

I've read she's sailing on the 23rd and saw a post where someone said they were sailing on it from the 23-25th. So maybe they'll come back to FL to provision or pick up / drop off and then head to SJ similar to the pre-dry dock. Just a thought, we'll see soon enough. See ya Monday !

those useless runner things at the ends of the beds

Those actually do serve a purpose. They're to rest your luggage on while unpacking, so that the comforter doesn't get dirty from any grunge on your luggage's wheels and bottom surface.

Those of you on Summit soon, would love to know for certain if Qsine is still the original menu, as is the case with Millennium, or the Petit Chef, or some combination of the two.

And for those of you who are technically inclined, would LOVE to see the dailies!

I've got 4 PHs booked on Summit, and I am NOT pleased with what I'm seeing.

No one seems to know if the Butler's Pantry will survive.

That table is butt ugly.

The color scheme, or lack thereof, is awful.

Kelly Hoppen sold Celebrity a bill of goods.  She is laughing all the way to the bank.

My dreams of achieving Zenith status are quickly fading.  I don't think I could sleep in those DRAB surroundings.  I'll let you know as I release my penthouses so anyone interested can jump on them....

VERY disappointing for me....

Thank you Mrs. Howell. Give my best to Thurston.  Keep away from the three hour tour.  Maybe Gilligan will be your butler.

I'm sailing on March 30. Concierge (over the phone) told me a few weeks ago that Petit Chef would not be available. Back in February he thought it would, so I'm guessing it didn't quite make the cut or they didn't have time for it.

I'm sailing on the 30th and I plan to pick up fresh dailies to photograph and as many menus as I can get my hands on.  I'll also be taking pictures as well but I probably won't post anything until I return.  I can't wait!  :)

On Cunard, they supply a special robust and waterproof cover laid out ready for your arrival in the cabin. Much more effective!

Will do when we get back, Laura!  Leaving for SJ on Sunday and cruising on Monday!😃

Thank you. Can you check to see if Taste of Film is offered and with what movie? That is where they show a movie on the outside deck and pair food with it(in case you didn't know).
