crabby1 Posted April 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2004 is there any place on the ship that you can get either a bucket or unopened bottled beer? on my first cruise on the sensation, they wouldn't let me buy a bucket of michelob light. they said they would have to pour all of them in cups. have a balcony room on next cruise on the spirit and would like to have some beer in cabin. can you get beer from room service? tef43 Posted April 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2004 The buckets were canned beer. Usually offered at the bars around the pool on Lido Deck. Tom <--- Curmudgeon of the Seas Eleven cruises so far. Up next: Shhhh, it's a surprise!
fascination 5/10 Posted April 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2004 Actually, last year we were able to get a bucket of beers...Coronas in plastic bottles... it was great! Something about beer from a can in the hot sun is unappealing.
jfritz126 Posted April 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2004 They also have Miller Lite in the 16 oz plastic bottles. I don't know if you could get them in buckets or not but they were $4.25 a bottle. bld24 Posted April 9, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2004 I've had the plasic bottled Corona, but I prefer the glass bottles. So I order a bucket from room service. The won't open it, but I tell them unopened just in case. They bring me a little plate of limes and an opener. Then I take it up to the pool deck. I don't walk around with it, just sit on my lounge. I understand Carnivals policy is related to the broken glass around the pool issue, but if that were the case why do they hawk the fozen drink of the day every now and again in the glass wine style glasses? I think its really more of an issue with recycling and dishwashing. Disposible cups are easier as opposed having to wash glasses. I'm not a big fan of drinking from plastic cups-those are for the kids. Just my preference. 13 cruises I won't bore you with them all Pending: Fantasy(5/4),Mariner(9/04),Splendour(2/

amyd Posted April 9, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2004 Nothing like a cold beer in a bottle. Cans just aren't as good for some reason. Lido deck here I come!!
Cruising89143 Posted April 9, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2004 Those plastic bottles do not keep the beer cold at all. I will take can before those plastic ones.
