Cigar smoking question

Just a question about cigar smoking. Where on Oasis of the seas can you smoke? I know you can smoke in the casino (at least i've been told this) and on the port side of deck 15 and 16(is there a small closed in smoking area, or just anywhere on that side, or how does this work? I also heard someone mention something about "cigars under the stars" or some such thing once, no idea what this is. 

 

I would really love a place to sit down at a bar and have a few drinks with a cigar, if this is at all possible. any advice on cigar smoking? Does the oasis of the seas not have a cigar bar or anything for some odd reason?

...Cigarette, cigar, e-cigarette and pipe smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas of the starboard side of all ships; with the exception of Oasis-class ships that will allow smoking on the port side of the ships. To assist in locating areas where smoking is permitted, guests will find visible signage posted within all smoking areas and ashtrays that are provided for use. Outdoor areas near restricted areas, food venues, and kids play areas and pools will not allow smoking. On Oasis class, smoking is not permitted in Central Park or the Boardwalk neighborhoods.

 

Casino Royale allows smoking and has a designated area for non-smoking guests. There will be visible signage indicating the non-smoking area in the casino. All cruises departing from China and Hong Kong will not have a non-smoking area in the casino. Smoking is not permitted in the casino for any ships departing from Australia and the United Kingdom....

Unfortunately, cigar smoking is only permitted outside on Oasis.

not even in the casino, where people are going to be chain smoking cigarettes anyway? that makes no sense. 

 

Any reasoning behind not having a cigar bar/lounge on the ship? i know other cruise lines do, and I believe i've been told other royal caribbean ships do as well, makes no sense to me, especially on a ship so big, there are surely enough demand.

Other Royal ships used to have a cigar lounge however t(one have been removed I favour of other venues during recent drydocks.  Any remaining will be removed at their next drydock.

huh, is there just less demand than i am thinking there is, or are the ventilation systems a pain in the ass to maintain or something? just seems odd on a ship with thousands of people they are not catering to any cigar smokers now.

Royal is catering to families.

I fail to see how this answers my question though. They cater to those who drink, they cater to those who want to buy expensive jewelry on the ship, they cater to children, they cater to those who like expensive wine, etc. them catering to families does not explain their motive as to why they are choosing to stop catering to cigar smokers as well, as it seems they should be catering to all of their guests on their ships.

Likely, the numbers are dwindling and they can make better use of venues (like the Connoisseur club).

Indoor space is at a premium.  Royal is either going to use it to cater to groups that have larger numbers or use it to generate revenue.

 

Cigar smokers fit neither of those criteria.  

 

You cant please everyone and you can’t do everything every other line does.  The great thing about cruising is that there are most likely other lines that do cater to those that want an indoor cigar lounge.

Nope, the times I've gone into the Club (if you don't mind the stale air it's a very good place for quiet) there was no one in there and saw maybe one per cruise outside.

If you liked fine cigars you would most likely be bringing your own with you or buying them from a reputable shop in port and  not chancing buying them on board where who knows what will be available and how they have been stored.

I will be on Harmony in June.  From what i can see on many of the cruise compasses there is a cigar lovers event in the evening at the pool bar.  I plan on bringing my own cigars rather than paying the high prices on board.  Yeah for some reason no smoking cigars in the casino but i plan on having one or two every night at the pool bar.  I enjoy smoking outdoors anyway.

OP: There just aren't enough of us that enjoy a good smoke. On last cruise on the Serenade I did bring along my own but really can't recall seeing another cigar smoker out enjoying one while I was smoking.
