Hilton Barcelona Anyone stayed there?

Just checking to see if anyone has stayed at this hotel and if they felt it was in a good location to see the major sites in Barcelona. Any comments good or bad? We will be staying a few days prior to our cruise on 10-13-19 and want to see as much as we can before we board the ship. Looks good on the reviews I read.

Thanks!

We stayed at the Hilton Barcelona last October.  We spent one night there prior to the Symphony Transatlantic.  It is a very nice hotel and great for a one night stay. We have been to Barcelona several times before so did not plan to do any touring.  In fact we came from Portugal where we had spent the previous two weeks and our main objective was to do laundry!  We found a laundromat a short walk from the Hilton so that worked out well.

If you plan to do to do a lot of touring I don’t think the Hilton is the right place to stay.  It is pretty far from the touristic center of Barcelona.  You may want to stay closer to Las Ramblas. Someplace like Hotel Jazz May fit the bill better  An AirBnB apartment may also work out well for you.

Lets just say it would not be our first choice or even our 10th choice...primarily because we do not like its location.  We prefer hotels closer to the Gothic Quarter (such as the Colon) or the Ramblas because those locations are much more convenient for tourists....especially those of us who like to walk.

What about the hotel Alexander by Hilton?  What do you think of it’s location?

We could live with that location :).  But DW and I do enjoy walking.  The good news it is inside the Diagonal and not too far from the Northwest end of the Ramblas.  We know nothing about that hotel but have always been pleased with Curio Collection properties.
