Rainy season: All day beach excursion bad idea?

I'll be going on my first cruise in December. Roatan is one of the ports, and I've learned that I'll be there during the rainy season.

Two of the excursions I'm considering from NCL are beach days: one to Tabyana Beach, and the other to Turquoise Bay. Is it a bad idea during this time of year to plan on excursion that involves just the beach?

If it is pouring down rain, do they still do the beach excursions? Are there places to sit at Tabyana Beach and Turquoise Bay resort that are under cover?

Thanks!

This is a difficult question to answer because one can not predict the weather.

If it is just rain, no wind it maybe worth while. If  you find yourself in the middle of a northern storm the wind will be a worry along with huge waves and very poor water visibility.

Or there is always the chance you will have a day of sun with bathtub calm seas and crystal clear water.

If snorkeling is part of your plan, choose Tabyana over Turquoise.
