Texting options on Summit??

We will be on the Summit in July with a large group.  I know that Celebrity has an app that will allow you to do certain things, like text others on the ship, however it says it’s not available on the Summit.  Are there any other apps that will let us do this??  Or do we need walk-in Talkies?

It seems they may add the App support after the update of the ship. One of the main upgrade scheduled in 2019-2023 on 9 ships is for the high-tech amenities including the Wi-Fi. Millennium has been done with that and is on the app. Summit should be the next one this month. However, they still need to work on the App to make it fully functional. Before that, one will need multiple device internet packages or the basic text and browse package (if available). Has anyone heard more about that latter $99 package?

Forget about walkie talkies.

Have you cruised before?

If you ever sailed on the Summit (or similar ship) you will find it easy to keep in contact with each other.

Set up meet times.  See you at the pool bar at 1:00.

Stop by the casino at 9:00.

During the day, most of the time will be spent going from the pool to the buffet to the pool and back.

We are also doing the Summit in July, the 14th.  If you are on that cruise, think about joining our roll call.

We have done this cruise twice.  Needless to say, we really have enjoyed it.

I have full internet package on my current cruise (Eclipse). As I was signing up & logging in yesterday I noticed several price options including one for Texting (and email?) But sorry didn’t note the details.

Thanks.  Yes, I’ve cruised before a bunch of times and on the Summit before too.  With just my family we’ve managed before.  My kids are 25, 20, 18 and 14.  But this trip will have 14 of us, including my elderly parents (one who is handicapped), so I wanted to make sure we could stay in touch since she won’t be with us at all times.

have the teens mark your daily .. each with a different colour highlighter..   Then if they decide to go off somewhere, they can call your cabin and leave a message

walkie talkies annoy every one around you.. belong in the woods
